James Badge Dale has landed the male lead, opposite Chicago Fire alum Monica Raymund, in Starz’s Hightown.
A crime drama set amid the drug trade on Cape Cod, Hightown is set in motion when a body washes ashore and is discovered by Raymund’s Jackie Quinones, an irreverent National Marine Fisheries Service officer who is determined to help solve the murder — even if the state cops want her nowhere near the case.

The cast for "Iron Man 3" keeps getting stronger and stronger. Already the list of new recruits includes Sir Ben Kingsley, Guy Pearce and Rebecca Hall. Returning players Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle are all in the mix as well. Today, we can add a new actor to the cast list, someone who isn't a big name like the aforementioned folks, but is a very bright star all the same.
James Badge Dale, best known for television efforts "The Pacific" and "Rubicon," has been cast in the third "Iron Man" film, reports Deadline. He'll play a villain named Savin, who eagle-eyed fans will quickly identify as Lieutenant-Colonel Eric Savin, aka Coldblood.
In the comics, Savin is investigating the top-secret development of super-soldiers when he's killed by a landmine. His body is retrieved and reanimated, and he's turned into a cyborg soldier designated Coldblood-7. Without his memories, with...

AMC gave viewers a sneak peek at "Rubicon" last night, their new conspiracy thriller series starring James Badge Dale, the star of HBO's "The Pacific." I unfortunately missed it, but I'll be checking out the pilot later today. Anyone out there in reader-land watch it? What did you think?
Badge Dale is a great actor. He got a lot of fans when he spent a season as Chase Edmunds on "24" and he impressed the hell out of me with his work on "The Pacific." There's a great supporting cast surrounding him here too: Miranda Richardson, "The Wire" vets Peter Gerety (Judge Phelan) and Isiah Whitlock, Jr. (Clay Davis), awesome "that guy" actor David Rasche... the list goes on. I'm dead curious to see how the pilot shapes up and am curious to hear what y'all think.
From "Mad Men" and "Breaking Bad" to "Rubicon" and, soon enough, "The Walking Dead.

The Pacific is the latest blockbuster mini series from HBO and executive producers Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg and Gary Goetzman, the creative team behind the Emmy-winning 2001 HBO miniseries Band of Brothers. The show is set to premiere in the UK tomorrow at 9pm on Sky Movies Premiere HD, and in celebration of its debut we have interviews with the three leading cast members. First up James Badge Dale.
Dale is probably best known for his role of Chase Edmunds in the third season of 24, in The Pacific he plays Robert Leckie, who’s letters and quotes act as a kind of narration to the proceddings. Leckie also wrote the book Helmet for My Pillow, which served as inspiration for the mini-series.
How did you get into the role?
I got a phone call from HBO one day -it had been a long audition process that lasted about six months. I got a phone call saying,...

After eight seasons, the Kiefer Sutherland-starring spy series "24" will come to an end on May 24. Fox revealed on Friday that this season's closer will cap off the series. Sutherland further confirmed to EW.com that there won't be any return to TV for the show on another network. Big screens perhaps, but no network migration.
“The writers are producing the equivalent of 12 films a year, which is unheard of, and producer Howard Gordon] felt to do a ninth would be potentially damaging,” Sutherland said. “We both felt strongly that there has been a demand and an interest in a '24' film, which would be a two-hour representation of a 24-hour day, so we felt it was time to move in that direction.”
So the news a few weeks ago about momentum building around a movie adaptation wasn't idle talk. But which characters will return? Sutherland's Jack Bauer of course.

Here at TVOvermind, we often receive material from the networks that, out of good conscience, we cannot share with our readers. For instance, last week I got my grubby paws on the first five minutes from the Season 8 premiere of '24,' airing tonight at 9/8c. The whole "good conscience" thing prohibits me from posting it, but as I am an individual of mediocre conscience, I'll give you a play-by-play. But caution! There be spoilers in this article.
The camera tracks the New York City skyline in the early dawn hours as the digital clock, reading "6:00:00" beeps across the screen. Street vendors bustle about, taxi cabs dash by pedestrians whilst horns blare. The camera moves down 7th Avenue until it settles upon a steel and glass building the Garment District. The camera stops, focused on the front door. The dull roar of the city quiets for a moment...
