She interpreted, in a photo shoot in 1990, the iconic Vivara print created in 1965 by Pucci and named after the island in the Gulf of Naples that inspired it. The opening of his first boutique in Capri in 1950 was already a declaration of love for the renowned archipelago overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, but it was precisely that crescent of land that captured his heart, discovering it from above while piloting his torpedo bomber during the Second World War flying over the Phlegraean islands.
At the end of the conflict, he tried to reproduce that aerial view of the island of Vivara by printing it on fabrics. Those prints immediately became the trademark of the Pucci style in the world, thanks to the numerous celebrities of the time who stopped by his boutique in Capri. From Marilyn Monroe to Jacqueline Kennedy,...

If you loved the 1995 novel The Talented Mr. Ripley by Patricia Highsmith, and then the film adaptation by Anthony Minghella starring Matt Damon, Jude Law, and Gwyneth Paltrow, get ready for another adaptation of the story in Netflix’s upcoming psychological crime-thriller series titled Ripley.
Adapted for television by Steve Zaillian (The Night Of) is looking up to be a brilliant drama with memorable performances and striking visuals. Nearly a year and a half ago, the late Sacheen Littlefeather became the face of Native identity fraud when skepticism about her background was publicized shortly after her death in October 2022. Now, one of her friends and former associates has come forward with genealogical records that indicate the activist best known for refusing Marlon Brando’s 1973 Oscar on his behalf may have had Indigenous ancestry after all.
Gayle Anne Kelley, whom Littlefeather first approached to produce her 2018 documentary short Sacheen: Breaking the Silence, commissioned a private investigator to look into Littlefeather’s background after Native independent journalist Jacqueline Keeler (Diné/Dakota) published an explosive report in the San Francisco Chronicle alleging that she was not Apache and Yaqui on her father’s side, as she had claimed, but rather Mexican. (That her mother’s side is white has never been disputed.)

(Welcome to Scariest Scene Ever, a column dedicated to the most pulse-pounding moments in horror with your tour guides, horror experts Chris Evangelista and Matt Donato. In this edition, Chris advises you to not cut your own face off while watching "Evil Dead" 2013.)
The idea of a remake of "The Evil Dead" seemed like a form of blasphemy at one point, but horror hounds appear to love Fede Álvarez's remake/reboot/reimagining/etc, the 2013 film "Evil Dead". Me? I'm somewhere in the middle. I love the nasty, gory, overwhelmingly bleak atmosphere Álvarez and company created for the film. However, a lot of the dialogue is so painfully bad that it takes me out of the movie on more than one occasion. I'm not saying I expected Shakespearian prose from "Evil Dead," but I know they could've done a lot better. No matter — the film is still plenty visceral and scary,...
