E! on Friday confirmed its plans to release the rom-coms Arranged Love, Ms. Match and Platonic this summer. Specific dates weren’t disclosed, though you can now view a teaser for all three films above.
Arranged Love centers on Meera, who after fleeing an arranged marriage as a young woman, leaving India and her inheritance behind, has made a name for herself in the tech world and now runs her own startup. When a costly problem threatens her company, however, marriage is exactly what she needs to solve it. In order to collect her inheritance in India, Meera comes up with a plan to inform her family she is, in fact, married – to the handsome Rama she met only moments ago – and returns home with him to sign the paperwork. As they keep up the ruse, Meera and Rama find themselves developing genuine chemistry, but this new arrangement brings yet another surprise.

In the world of feature films, the term "movie magic" brings to mind Avatar's bright blue humanoids and Michael Bay's explosive action flicks. But in the realm of holiday films, movie magic is achieved by an actual expertise in optical illusions and sleight of hand—no CGI or stunt doubles required. As a producer and the Executive of Development for MarVista Entertainment, Julianna Hays knows what it takes to create a movie worthy of Lifetime's massive catalogue of holiday films. In 2020 alone, Lifetime has 30 new seasonal movies on its slate, one of which Julianna executive produced: Christmas Ever After. The project posed a challenge especially unique to 2020....

What’s a romantic holiday TV movie without a big kiss, whether it’s under the mistletoe, in the snow or by the fire? Not as merry, that’s for sure. That’s why Lifetime began to troubleshoot the actors-kissing-during-a-pandemic conundrum it was facing while shooting its annual slate of small-screen Christmas films, which total 30 projects this year.
“Everybody was incredibly concerned about, as we were figuring it out, making sure that we were following the best possible guidelines to keep people safe,” Amy Winter, head of programming at Lifetime, told TheWrap. “We all sat down, even before we got started, saying, how is anybody even going to kiss in these movies, given the circumstances? And the greatest, oddest solution I’ve seen so far is people kissing through plexiglass that can be removed in post, which is absolutely phenomenal.”
That solution Winter told TheWrap about was used in “Christmas Ever After,...

Lifetime Sets Expanded Holiday Slate, Including Network's First LGBTQ-Led Movie The Christmas Set-Up
Lifetime is making plans for its biggest Holiday slate to date.
Reaching over 80.1 million total viewers during last year's It's a Wonderful Lifetime programming block, the cabler emerged as the #1 holiday movie destination.
For 2020, the star studded It's a Wonderful Lifetime slate will feature 30 new movies, and over 1200 hours of holiday programming - 24/7 - from mid-October through December with many new and returning stars.
Hooray, right?
This year Lifetime dives deeper in the commitment for diverse storytelling with its storylines, talent and characters.
Following last year's Twinkle All the Way which featured an on screen, same sex kiss between couple Lex and Danny (Brian Sills and Mark Ghanimé), Lifetime has greenlighted The Christmas Set Up, the networks' first movie with a LGBTQ romance as the lead story.
Additionally, Lifetime has greenlighted its first holiday movie centered on a Chinese-American family in A Sugar & Spice Holiday, to be directed by...

Lifetime has set “The Christmas Set Up,” its first-ever Christmas movie centered on a gay couple, which will air as part of the cable channel’s slate of 30 new holiday films this year.
“We’re proud that we were able to share an amazing storyline last year featuring a same-sex kiss in ‘Twinkle All the Way,'” Lifetime and Lmn head of programming Amy Winter said Monday during the cable channel’s presentation at the virtual Summer Ctam tour. “And this year, we’re even more proud to announce one of our Christmas movies will feature an LGBTQ lead story because, at Lifetime, the holidays truly are for everyone.”
