- Ken Bowersox was born on November 14, 1956 in Portsmouth, Virginia, USA. He is an actor, known for Home Improvement (1991), NASA: Triumph and Tragedy (2009) and Space Voyages (2013).
- An engineer, a United States Naval officer, and a former NASA astronaut. He is a veteran of five Space Shuttle missions and an extended stay aboard the International Space Station.
- Naval aviator and test pilot. Selected as an astronaut candidate by NASA in June 1987.

- During several Space Shuttle missions he served as a spacecraft communicator for the Houston Mission Control Center. Among many admirable jobs, he was the flight veteran who logged over 211 days in space - including 2 EVAs (space walks) totaling over 13 hours. He piloted spacecraft and served as Expedition-6 Crew Commander for five and a half months aboard the International Space Station (2002-2003). Bowersox retired from NASA and the U.S. Navy in 2006.
