Police and volunteers have spent more than a week searching the Salt Lake City area for a 30-year-old father who vanished nine days ago after acting strangely, People confirms.
According to investigators, Paul Heiner Swenson made little sense when he spoke to relatives hours before disappearing on July 27.
He was reported missing later that day by his wife, Ashlee Swenson, who runs a style and design blog also chronicling her life as a new mother to their young daughter.
Ashlee has used her Internet presence, including more than 45,000 Instagram followers, to amplify the story of her husband’s disappearance. “We need help!

A Utah mother was charged this week with one count of felony child abuse after she allegedly yanked out some of her 7-year-old son’s teeth in a Wal-Mart bathroom earlier this year.
Authorities say the charge stems from an April 2 incident in which 47-year-old Jeannine Isom went to Wal-Mart, purchased hand sanitizer and needle nose pliers and took her son to the bathroom. While there, investigators claim, she pulled out two of his teeth with the pliers.
“It wasn’t just a parent trying to get rid of a kid’s lose tooth,” Deputy Utah County, Utah, Attorney Christine Scott tells People.

Season Nine of Project Runway is well underway, and after five episodes, there are still five members of Team Gay left.
Because the early going is basically just whittling down the cast to a reasonable number, we're going to eschew a regular recap and just focus on the highlights. (And many thanks to Ae reader Miz Liz for continuing the recaps in the forums while we were taking a sabbatical).
Seen And Not Heard
This week's competition involves working with children. *shudder* But wait! These aren't ordinary kids, they're art students, so the annoyance level is at a reasonable decibel. The kids create a painting for each designer, and that designer has to use the painting to create something avant-garde for the runway. I was crushed that they didn't have to literally use the painting. I would've given anything to see the models try to navigate the runway with their heads poking through.

Joshua Christensen has been eliminated for the second time from Project Runway after failing to impress the judges in an avant garde-themed show. After being brought back in the competition as a replacement for drop-out Cecilia, Christensen was dropped for a second time with his designs. This week, the designers visisted the Harlem School of the Arts and were paired off with students. All the contestants had to work with their partners to creat an avant-garde design. The judges were highly critical (more)...

Mormon banker-turned designer Josh Christensen, 29, is back in the workroom already, working on a menswear line. “If people looked at my portfolio, they would understand immediately what I was about,” Christensen promises. “I try to do something that’s innovative but wearable. I’m not looking...

Pet Project
This week's competition takes the designers to a pet store, where Tim Gunn tells them that this is one of Project Runway's "unconventional challenges." Wait, aren't most of them? The have to design an outfit made entirely of pet products, but makes a point again that it should be "unconventional," something that one poor Mormon boy should've listened to.
Honey Badger Don't Give A Sh*T
Bert Keeter became an instant audience favorite with his win last week, but apparently he believes that "immunity" means "i'll just take this challenge off." He was shockingly apathetic, and even admitted as much.

Season 9 of Project Runway kicked off tonight and the designers were forced to create a design from what they were wearing on their backs when they walked in the workroom! We can tell you who’s gonna be a crowd fave, who’s a guaranteed dramaqueen, and who will definitely get the boot next episode!
Project Runway kicked off tonight and after the new designers presented their most treasured garments on their racks, four were already sent home! Gunner Deatherage, Serena da Conceicao, David Chum, and Amanda Perna were hardly even given a chance to make it or break it in the fashion world! After the unfortunate four were tossed, Tim Gunn sent the remaining 16 contestents, including reformed 57-year-old alcoholic Bert, cancer survivor Anthony Ryan, a mid-western sweetheart named Laura Kathleen (who everyone refers to as ‘Barbie’) and quirky Julie Tierney.

You better work! Lifetime has the 20 new designers for Project Runway season 9 up online, and it’s bothering me way more than it should that some of their Facebook “like” tallies are exponentially higher than the others. Is “Gunnar Deatherage” a) a real person and b) the most popular because he’s the only one wearing shades in his headshot? Should I be wearing my favorite big-ass mirrorball sunglasses while I blog? Should I start a campaign for everyone who reads this to log on and “like” Becky Ross right now? I’d feel so good about that, but also dishonest.
