Carol Friedman has been documenting icons of the art and music worlds for more than two decades. In 1990, she founded Dominick Films and produced and directed music videos for the recording artists whom she photographed. At that time, she also began to film singer/ composer Abbey Lincoln for a feature-length documentary on her life and work. She is the author of The Jazz Pictures, the acclaimed retrospective of her portraits of jazz artists, and author and producer of the award-winning Nicky The Jazz Cat series of books and music for children. The Music Is The Magic is her first feature-length film.
