Recent chatter informs us that 'Anvil' director Sacha Gervasi is close to signing on to helm a biopic that's based on Stephen Rebello's book "Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho." Now THR chimes in to tell us that the one and only Sir Anthony Hopkins is interested in portraying The Master of Suspense. 'Black Swan' screenwriter John McLoughlin is presently on adaptation duties, and the film will focus on Hitchcock's 'Psycho' production as well as the filmmaker's relationship with his wife, Elma.
But this isn't the only Hitchcock biopic in the works. There's also 'Number 13,' which features Dan Fogler as the director, alongside Emily Mortimer and Ben Kingsley.
Of course the juiciest question of the day is this: do you see Anthony Hopkins as Hitchcock? The old fellow would have to gain some serious weight.
