Sami Martin Sarmiento's love for costume design flourished under her father's vast collection of over ten thousand films. Her fashion design background has been a foundation to her film work. She is a member of the Costume Designers Guild and The Television Academy. She is a lover and supporter of the performing arts on and off set.
Sami worked in New York City as a fashion designer and founded her lingerie brand EUCLiD.
She interned at the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Her work appeared in HumanShapes art film series directed by Nathan Kim.
Sami wanted to design astronaut spacesuits due to her father's influence as an amateur astronomer and astrophotographer.
Due to schedule conflicts, Sami designed and built a rhinestone costume in eight hours for River Gallo the night before filming. Sadé Clacken Joseph co-directed with River.
