Cuttack, Jan 11 (Ians) Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday inaugurated the Fih Hockey World Cup at Barabati Stadium here in presence of Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur.
Odisha Sports minister Tusharkanti Behera, senior officials of the state as well as Fih (International Hockey Federation) and Hockey India along with a 50,000 strong crowd attended the mega event.

Bhubaneswar, Nov 25 (Ians) Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday said his government is providing cashless health service to over 70,000 patients every month and spending Rs 70 crore on this.
Addressing a virtual orientation programme for the newly recruited 203 assistant professors in the Health Department, Patnaik said the state government is committed to provide universal access to quality health care services and bring down the out-of-pocket expenses of the people.
The budget estimate in the healthcare has almost doubled to over Rs 12,000 crore in this financial year since 2019-20. It is more than 6 per cent of the State Plan, he said.

Bhubaneswar, Nov 23 (Ians) Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday launched Amlan (Anaemia Mukta Lakhya Abhiyan) — a multi-pronged approach for accelerated reduction of anaemia among targeted groups.
Launching the programme on a virtual platform, the Chief Minister said it is the state’s own programme for making the state free from anaemia, especially women and children.
The programme will be carried out by several departments including Health & Family Welfare, School & Mass Education, Women & Child Development, Mission Shakti and St & Sc Development.
The programme will benefit about 1.37 crore people, which includes pregnant women, lactating mothers, women of reproductive age group, adolescents and children, he said.
Patnaik further said that the major interventions under the programme are strengthening iron and folic acid supplementation, testing for haemoglobin, treatment of anaemic cases, capacity building of service providers and social behaviour change communication.
