Cyril Svoboda was a Czech politician, leader of the Christian and Democratic Union - Czechoslovak People's Party between 2001-2003 and 2009-2010 and a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic (1998-2010). During his political career he held several ministerial positions, most notably he was the Deputy Prime Minister (July 2002-August 2004) and Minister of Foreign Affairs (July 2002-September 2006).
