Eli Roth’s original Cabin Fever is only twelve years old. I remember going to the cinema to see it and being bowled over by its repugnant gore and frank nudity; it possessed all the key elements required to become a truly great horror classic. While there’s no definite time span one can use to determine the transformation from ‘awesome new gorefest’ to ‘cult horror fave,’ isn’t twelve years a bit too soon?
Apparently not. Today, Armory Films, Cassian Elwes, and Contend announced their plans to remake Roth’s body horror. This reboot-remake will be shot “from the exact same script that Roth directed 13 years ago, as opposed to going through a long, delayed studio development process.” Heading up production is Evan Astrowsky (who also produced the original film), Chris Lemole and Tim Zajaros.

Typically, when we hear that an upcoming feature will be “sci-fi, with a twist,” it’s cause for major raspberry-blowing, but when the name Lynne Ramsay is attached to such a production, it’s cause for celebration. THR reports (via ComingSoon) that the Scottish auteur (and that she most certainly is) has snagged the necessary producers (and their finances) for an ambitious new project, titled Mobius. Ramsay will direct and co-write the film (along with her husband Rory Kinnear, who she previously adapted We Need to Talk About Kevin with), which is described as a “science fiction-oriented project inspired by ‘Moby Dick.’” Yes, that Melville element is the twist. But a fun one, right? The film is reportedly a “psychological action thriller set in deep space” in which “a captain consumed by revenge takes his crew on a death mission fueled by his own ego and will to control an enigmatic alien.” Oh...

In the horror genre there are few things we love more than the stupidity of young adults! I mean, why not pick up strange, spooky-looking hitchhikers and drive them to their dilapidated home, where you'll eventually encounter all kinds of nastiness? We love you guys!
According to Variety Jeremy Sumpter, Bret Davern, Elizabeth Diprinzio, Chris Coy, Lindsey Godfrey, Virginia Williams, Jonathan Schaech and Harley Graham are starring in indie horror thriller The Culling, currently shooting in New Orleans.
The Culling centers on a group of five college friends who head out of town for a fun-filled long weekend, but their plans change after finding a 7-year-old girl alone at an empty cafe along the highway and have no choice but to drive her home. When they arrive at her house, it's quickly apparent they will have to stay for the night -- but what's not apparent is the evil nightmare they are about to encounter.
