The Chicago Med cast introduced Dr. Strauss on Wednesday night for the 100th episode of the show. The familiar face to television was recently seen on NCIS: Los Angeles, but that’s not the show she is best known for appearing on. Who plays Dr. Strauss on Chicago Med? Actress Anna Belknap played Lindsay Monroe on CSI: NY for years and...

It's not the first time "CSI" series have crossed over, but a couple of firsts are still involved.
Gary Sinise's Detective Mac Taylor leaves the Big Apple to visit his girlfriend Christine (Megan Dodds) in Las Vegas as a new story begins on CBS' "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" Wednesday (Feb. 6). The problem: When he arrives, she can't be found. The mystery comes to involve D.B. Russell (Ted Danson), leading him to follow Taylor back East as the tale concludes on "CSI: NY" Friday (Feb. 8).
Though Sinise was involved in two tales that merged his series with the now-finished "CSI: Miami," he's never been on the set of the Vegas-set parent drama before, And since Danson joined "CSI" only last season, this is his first opportunity to visit a related show, and also to work with fellow Emmy winner and acting veteran Sinise.
"He's such a sweet man," Danson tells Zap2it.

Anna Belknap is happy to be doing another season of "CSI: NY," though she didn't necessarily expect it.
Now in its ninth year, the CBS crime drama faced the very real possibility of ending last spring, with its season finale -- in which forensics team leader Mac Taylor (Gary Sinise) was mortally wounded -- suggesting the cast and crew were braced to wrap things up for good.
Instead, "CSI: Miami" became the part of the franchise that was canceled, and Belknap has gotten to continue as New York police detective and lab expert Lindsay Monroe Messer.
"I thought for sure it was the end," she tells Zap2it. "I really did. We had been close [to cancellation] the year before, so we all thought, 'Well, we were lucky to get another year.' "That last time we were all together, we were taking a lot of pictures. It's a huge chunk of all our lives,...

Anna Belknap is in for quite a day -- fueled largely by Green Day -- on "CSI: NY."
Now back in its former time slot after CBS' quick benching of "Made in Jersey," the crime procedural airs a new episode Friday (Oct. 19) that's a big gamble for a TV drama: A sizable chunk of the story has no dialogue. Largely new music by the Grammy-winning Green Day functions as "narration," as forensic police detective Lindsay Monroe Messer (Belknap) is hurt in the frenzy following an attempt on a politician's (guest star Neal McDonough) life.
Appropriately subtitled "Unspoken," the tale posed built-in challenges for Belknap and such other "CSI: NY" stars as Gary Sinise and Sela Ward. "When I was reading the script, I didn't realize it would be the debut of all this music," Belknap tells Zap2it of the included tunes from "Green Day ¡Dos!" (to be released Nov.

From indie California punks to mainstream rock 'n rollers whose latest album is available at your nearest convenience store (seriously), Green Day have certainly come a long way in their career, which has spanned more than two decades. From grimy basement gigs to selling out arenas worldwide to even conquering the Broadway stage (with the "American Idiot" production), what can they possibly do next? How about providing the soundtrack to a long-running crime procedural on network television? Um, okay. The band has lent "CSI: NY" tunes from their new trio of albums ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, ¡Tre! for an upcoming episode. The plot will revolve around the capture of a shooter who injures Lindsay Monroe while attempting to pick off a political candidate. But the twist here is that the songs -- “Stop When The Red Lights Flash,” “Amy,” “Night Life,” “The Forgotten” and “Kill The DJ” -- will be...

Their stated goal is to uphold the law of the land and put the bad guys behind bars, but every TV fan knows that our favorite small-screen cops, detectives, and agents — as well as their colleagues who semi-officially serve in crime-fighting capacities — have a duty to increase pulses and raise the temperatures of whatever rooms they enter.
We recently wrapped up a 64-player bracket tournament for male law-enforcement types — won by NCIS‘ Tony Dinozzo — and since we’re equal opportunity oglers/romantics, we figured we’d better construct a similar showdown for their female counterparts.

The sun is surely going to shine for Mayim Bialik. The former 'Blossom' star has been promoted to series regular on CBS's 'The Big Bang Theory.'
Bialik's deal is for this season only and does not call for her to appear in every episode, Deadline Hollywood reports. The previously recurring guest star first debuted at the end of last season and has popped up a handful of times this season.
This move is similar to one made earlier this year with recurring guest star Melissa Rauch. She's also signed as a regular for this season and not contracted for all episodes.
Since 'Blossom,' Bialik has appeared on many shows, including 'Curb Your Enthusiasm,' 'Bones' and most recently 'The Secret Life of the American Teenager.'

Eastwick fans, rejoice!
Viewers of that short-lived ABC series have reason to celebrate today, as Lindsay Price has landed a guest-starring role on CSI: NY. The actress will portray Kate on a February episode of the drama, a character who can't move beyond a past trauma and forms a connection with Anna Belknap's Lindsay Monroe Messer.
CSI: NY is on a roll this season. It's averaging over 11 million viewers per week, a 25% increase over the same time period on CBS a year ago.

CSI: NY is all new on January 13 and D.B. Sweeney will be making a guest appearance. I haven't watched something with him for a long time, but he's in one of my favorite cheesy older movies, The Cutting Edge. CBS has released photos and a short synopsis for the episode, which you can view below.
