At first glance, the nondescript stucco structure in front of me could have been any other office building in Austin, Texas. But if the millions of Rooster Teeth fans around the world knew where this unmarked and (mostly) undisclosed establishment was, it would be their ultimate mecca. Why? Because hidden behind its doors are the staff, projects, and secrets of the digital production company’s entire animation department.
As I approach the building and see Rooster Teeth’s public relations manager Sophie Turcotte waiting for me at the door, dressed in a smart day-to-night dress (she has to go to the Day 5 season two red carpet premiere that night), I’m highly aware fans of the company’s web series like Rwby, Red vs. Blue, and Animated Adventures would kill to be in my black wedges right now. Rooster Teeth’s upcoming programming slate will include some new projects as well as a few fresh twists for existing shows. The Austin-based studio has announced three programs that will premiere over the next few months: The 14th season of Red Vs. Blue, a Rwby spin-off called Rwby Chibi, and an animated comedy called Camp Camp.
Red Vs. Blue, which stands as Rooster Teeth’s most iconic franchise, will tinker its format as it begins its 13th year on the Internet. The machinima comedy set in the Halo universe will eschew a season-long arc in favor of individual stories engineered by prominent content creators, such as Freddie Wong, Game Grumps, and science fiction author Ernest Cline. A trailer released on the official Red Vs. Blue channel provides a brief introduction for the upcoming episodes.

Rooster Teeth is branching out, and as it does, its paying subscribers will serve as its target audience. The Austin-based entertainment company, which recently released its first feature film, has announced two new web series: A sci-fi comedy called Crunch Time and a thriller called Day 5. Both will be available exclusively to Rooster Teeth’s paying subscribers, referred to as its “sponsors.”
The majority of Rooster Teeth’s productions have starred its own cast of loveable personalities, and in that regard, both of the upcoming shows will be significant departures for the studio. Crunch Time, which will follow goofy grad students as they fool around with their equipment and accidentally open up a black hole, features a strong cast that includes Good Neighbor’s Nick Rutherford and Freaks And Geeks’ Samm Levine. In contrast, Day 5 will be a drama series -- Rooster Teeth’s first -- that will star Jessee C.

Rooster Teeth is getting fans pumped up for the third season of its ultra-popular anime web series. The Austin-based production company dropped the trailer for Rwby: Volume 3, which is set to debut on October 24, 2015.
Rwby: Volume 3 will follow the main characters and monster-huntresses-in-training Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang as they compete to win glory for their school Beacon Academy in the Vytal Festival Tournament. The Volume 3 trailer reveals plenty of intense and fast-paced fights in the massive arena (a new set revealed at Rtx 2015) where the four young women take on rival students. But the new Rwby trailer also hints at something sinister brewing underneath all the excitement of the festival.

Rooster Teeth’s annual Rtx convention kicked off on August 7, 2015, with a panel dedicated to the production company’s anime series Rwby. In a packed ballroom, animation leads Kerry Shawcross, Miles Luna, and Gray Haddock, along with the four lead voice actresses, discussed their plans for the future of Rwby.
The Rwby panel started with a moment of silence for the show’s creator Monty Oum, who passed away unexpectedly in February 2015. The show’s cast and crew noted how the unfortunate situation has put them behind about five months on production, but that they’re still pressing forward with Rwby Volume 3 and all things Rwby-related.
For example, the Rwby cast and crew played a trailer for the Japanese-dubbed version of Rwby Volume 1. That version of the Rooster Teeth show, announced in August 2014, will be the first-ever American anime exported to Japan. The dubbed version of Rwby revealed its...
