The stars of Kinds of Kindness are out in full force at the 77th Annual Cannes Film Festival to promote their black comedy anthology film directed by Poor Things’ Yorgos Lanthimos.
At the photocall on Saturday, Emma Stone, Hunter Schafer, and Margaret Qualley all looked stunning in matching black-and-white dresses—each with a distinct flair—perfect for the French Riviera setting.

Kinds of Kindness: A Triptych Fable
Kinds of Kindness tells three distinct but somewhat related stories, separated into three segments: “The Death of R.M.F.,” the first segment, centers on a man who tries to take control of his own life after severing ties with his influential boss; “R.M.F. is Flying,” the second segment, follows a man who becomes suspicious that...

Eyes follow Anya Taylor-Joy whenever she steps on a red carpet, and the descriptions of her ensembles that follow often include adjectives like glamorous, ethereal, angelic, and the like. But when she faced photographers’ lenses in Sydney in early May for the world premiere of George Miller’s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, what followed was a series of exclamation points. Edgy! Electric! Striking! Furiosa-approved!
Taylor-Joy donned a vintage look from Paco Rabanne’s spring 1996 haute couture collection. The sheer chain-mail creation featured triangular and oval diamonté adornments with arrow spikes jutting out from both the body of the dress and the matching headpiece.
With her appearance, Taylor-Joy became the latest star to fashionably fuel a trend that has been described as method dressing or character cosplay. It has felt omnipresent as of late, thanks to style stars like Zendaya, Margot Robbie, Emma Stone, Kristen Stewart and Florence Pugh. Though...

“She’s one of my fashion girls — she loves fashion and is very spirited when it comes down to it.” So says veteran stylist Petra Flannery about one of her A-list longtime clients, Zoe Saldaña. And it shows. The actress, who moves seamlessly from blockbuster franchises like Avatar and Guardians of the Galaxy to indie fare like Jacques Audiard’s Emilia Perez, the film that leads her back to the Palais this year, catches eyes whenever she steps on a red carpet. On the eve of her return, Flannery looks back on their memorable Cannes collaborations and teases what to expect this year: “The beautiful premiere moments are a really magical stage for fashion. These are the moments that we live for.”

Reese Witherspoon was one of the A-list celebrities who paid tribute to Nicole Kidman on Saturday as she received the Life Achievement Award from the American Film Institute (AFI). Not surprisingly, Witherspoon dressed in black for the occasion.

It’s no secret that the 48-year-old Sweet Home Alabama actress has gone through several different styles over the years. Remember her Legally Blonde era? She used to embrace a feminine, delicate style but now prefers a more mature, glamorous look that fits her age.
Reese is known for her love of timeless black dresses, which, although polished and elegant, can often become boring—like the outfit she wore to the PaleyFest LA. I’m glad her recent red carpet appearance wasn’t as dull as expected.

The Curse began with an actual curse, or at least the threat of one. When Nathan Fielder first moved from Canada to L.A. in 2009, a woman approached him on the street asking for a handout. He told her he had no money. She replied, “I curse you.”
That anecdote, described by Fielder to pal Benny Safdie, was the seed for one of the most startling and innovative shows in recent memory. Fielder, whose spins on reality TV in shows like HBO’s The Rehearsal have earned him a devoted fan base (Christopher Nolan among them), and Safdie (who, with brother and ex-directing partner Josh, made Uncut Gems) cooked up a bitter black comedy that in part skewered HGTV programming. The duo cast themselves as childhood friends — one of them, Asher Siegel (Fielder), a nebbish, budding reality star burdened with a micropenis — making a pilot about a couple trying to...

It’s no secret that Zoe Saldana usually wears black dresses, and I couldn’t blame her—black is a classic and versatile color that can effortlessly create a stylish and sophisticated appearance.
After showcasing a series of black ensembles during the promotion of “The Absence of Eden” last month, Zoe Saldana made a striking return to the red carpet. Remarkably, she appeared in two identical black dresses at events only a few days apart.
Embracing Quiet Luxury: Zoe Saldana in Maison Margiela Midi Dress
Zoe Saldana and her husband of 11 years, Marco Perego, flew to Venice, Italy, recently to attend a gala dinner hosted by business magnate Francois Pinault, Salma Hayek’s husband, in celebration of the 60th Biennale Art 2024.
Arriving arm-in-arm at the Giorgio Cini Foundation, the lovebirds wore coordinating black outfits, with Marco in a classic suit and Zoe in a black midi dress.

Petra Flannery, recently featured on THR’s 2024 Celebrity Power Stylist List, has launched two new collaborations.
Working as a team with her sister Meehan, Flannery — whose clients include Emma Stone, Zoe Saldaña and Reese Witherspoon — has partnered with Lafayette 148 to launch “Classic 148: The White Shirt Project,” as well as with sustainable fine jewelry company Vrai for a recycled gold collection.
The Vrai collaboration ($1,900-$16,800) features California-inspired designs that “transcend time and trends,” the brand said in a release. Flannery has been working with the company since it started in 2014, and the stylist told The Hollywood Reporter that this latest collaboration has been in the works for roughly a year.
The collection, made up of 15 fine jewelry pieces, features diamond shapes created by Vrai in their carbon-neutral certified foundry.
“I’ve always had a great relationship with them,” Flannery says. “I kind of saw a space with their pieces...

It’s been a year — one in which Barbie pink dominated fashion, the box office and the Oscar red carpet, notably on America Ferrera, who glittered in a custom Atelier Versace sheath, courtesy of stylist Karla Welch. Lest we forget, a side effect of the SAG-AFTRA strike was red carpets being rolled up for four months — but not before Cardi B shut down the Met Ball in Chenpeng and Oppenheimer star Emily Blunt hit the London premiere (an hour early, so the cast could attend before the strike began) in Alexander McQueen, as selected by Jessica Paster. Post-strike, stars like Hunter Schafer, decked out in ethereal Prada as styled by Dara, came back shining more brightly than ever at the Golden Globes. And who doesn’t love a Hollywood icon comeback? The fashion world trumpeted Demi Moore, who wore a Balmain swan as procured by Brad Goreski to the Feud: Capote vs.

Roger Federer — who’s about to get the sports doc treatment on Amazon — has had a busy few days in Los Angeles.
On March 10, he attended the Oscars for the second time with his wife Mirka, and afterward hit the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. Two nights later, Federer and eyewear company Oliver Peoples threw a celebrity-studded dinner at Sunset Tower — attended by the likes of Trevor Noah, Sharon Stone, Edgar Ramirez, Maria Sharapova, Jay Ellis and Lindsey Vonn — to celebrate his new sunglasses line with the brand.
And while there’s no date yet set for his documentary, Federer recently saw a screening of the feature-length film, which is helmed by Oscar-winning director Asif Kapadia (Amy) and co-director Joe Sabia.
The tennis great told GQ that he was emotionally walloped by watching the doc and reliving moments that are in the film, which follows the last 12 days of his pro...

Actress Dakota Johnson ("Madame Web"), poses for a classic issue of “Tatler” (UK) magazine, wearing Gucci and Petra Flannery, photographed by Jack Waterlot:
"I do not like stupid rules", said Johnson. "Like rules for rules' sake. Or people implementing rules because they're seeking power.
"To go out into the world, do hair and make-up and wear an outfit to look a certain way, it's super jarring. So to wear clothes in which I feel like myself is vital. I feel like Ok this is a version of me.
"I don't know if you've ever had this where you meet another woman and see parts of yourself in them that you didn't know you had before you'd met.
“It's almost like they turn up the dial on your life.

Renée Zellweger isn’t just a best actress front-runner this awards season, she’s leading the pack for “Best Dressed” as well.
The 47-year-old actress, whose portrayal of Judy Garland in Rupert Goold’s biopic earned rave reviews (and lots of nominations), arrived at the 2020 Golden Globes in a strapless baby blue Armani Privé gown, featuring a thigh-high slit and crystal-embroidered piping. Zellweger pulled her blonde hair back in a loose updo and wore a soft pink lipstick. She accessorized with matching Jimmy Choo pumps and a gold cuff.

Reese Witherspoon is kicking off awards season in serious style.
The actress, 43, wowed on the red carpet at Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles in a custom white crepe one-shoulder asymmetric Roland Mouret gown, which her stylist Petra Flannery calls “a fresh approach to Hollywood glamour with the leaf inspired neckline and Tiffany Diamond pear embellished earrings to complement.”
She completed the romantic look with Tiffany & Co. jewels and Christian Louboutin platform sandals.
“Wearing white to the biggest party of the year, wish me luck!

Emma Stone was one of the most exciting stars to watch on the red carpet last season, as she stepped out in one stunning red carpet look after another. She wore a range of designers, from the star-covered Valentino at the Golden Globes to the Givenchy Haute Couture gown that she won her Oscar in for La La Land (which had taken 1,700 hours to produce by hand). This year, it’s going to be a little different for the Battles of the Sexes star — you will see her in one label and one label only, and that would be Louis Vuitton.
