Nearly a year after Syfy first announced that it was developing a sequel series to the 1990 cult classic Tremors, star Kevin Bacon has confirmed that the follow-up is not moving past the pilot stage.
Bacon on Friday shared the news via an Instagram post, saying, “Sad to report that my dream of revisiting the world of Perfection will not become a reality. Although we made a fantastic pilot… the network has decided not to move forward.”
The quasi revival was said to have been set 25 years after the events of the original film. According to the previously released logline, the...

Way back in episode 10 of Channel Control, I might have mentioned that Kevin Bacon was going to reprise his role of Valentine Mckee in a Tremors TV show. We didnt have much info on the whole project other than the all new TV series would be on Syfy and that Kevin would play the same character from the first movie, 25 years later. You can check that episode out Here.
Well now we've got a bit more info on the series so let share the news. First bit of news, Location! Thanks to the Albuquerque Journal weve learned that principal photography will start in Albuquerque at the end of October and continue on thru November. This will most likely be the main locatoion shoot for the town of Perfection.
The second, and probably the most important, we've got a synopsis for the show, which is summarised below:

The TV pilot based on the 1990 cult classic Tremors just got three more cast members to star alongside Kevin Bacon. Deadline Hollywood reports that Emily Tremaine, Megan Ketch and Shiloh Fernandez will join Bacon in the Syfy pilot.
The Tremors follow-up is written by Andrew Miller and will be directed by Vincenzo Natali. In the episode, the killer Graboid worms that terrorized a rural town in Nevada 25 years ago are back, and the town’s only hope for survival is Valentine McKee (Bacon).
Tremaine will play the daughter of Val (Bacon). She is a recent college grad that stops by Perfection to visit her dad.
Ketch will play a young doctor who is fixated on Val, who saved her from a Graboid when she was a kid. But her character is hiding something that makes her an unexpected threat.

Megan Ketch is an American actress who might be most recognizable for her roles in The Big Wedding and American Gothic. Recently, she has been cast in an upcoming Syfy pilot called Tremors, which is a sequel to the sci-fi movie of the same name from 1990. Suffice to say that it involved huge, man-eating worms, which are bound to make a return in the pilot in some manner. The Tremors worms are coming for a new set of actors: Megan Ketch — who fronted CBS’ American Gothic and recurred on Jane the Virgin as Susanna Barnett — will star opposite Kevin Bacon in Syfy’s sequel pilot.
Emily Tremaine (Guilt, Vinyl) and Shiloh Fernandez (Gypsy) have also been cast in the project, which takes place 25 years after the 1990 cult hit about an invasion of killer worms (aka “Graboids”) that wreak havoc on an unsuspecting Nevada desert town. The worms are back, and it’s up to an aged, alcoholic Valentine McKee (Bacon) to once again save humanity.

"Jessica - I really like you." "Of course you do! Everybody does. I'm friggin dope!" Netflix has debuted the full-length trailer for The Incredible Jessica James, the latest film from talented indie filmmaker Jim Strouse (of Grace Is Gone, The Winning Season, People Places Things - all three are great films). This upbeat indie comedy stars Jessica Williams from "The Daily Show" in a major breakout role as Jessica James, an aspiring playwright living in New York City struggling with the dating scene and the career scene. She meets a goofball guy that she slowly starts to fall for, played by Chris O'Dowd. Also starring Lakeith Stanfield, Noël Wells, Megan Ketch, and Zabryna Guevara. I saw this film at its Sundance premiere and it's wonderful, not only a fantastic performance from Jessica Williams, but an optimistic, light-hearted, enjoyable film to put you in a good mood. Just see it. Swipe Right To Meet.

CBS is hoping for killer ratings with their new murder mystery series, American Gothic. It seems like it's been conceived as a one season series but, if it's successful enough, they'll surely find a way to bring it back (ala Wayward Pines and Under the Dome) for season two. If it's a flop, the show could be cancelled and pulled off the air. What will happen? Stay tuned.

In making his first English-language film, Norwegian filmmaker Joachim Trier has lost none of the sensitive ferocity that gave his first two films – 2006’s Reprise and 2011’s Oslo, August 31 – their bite. Not that’s it’s been particularly unusual to see Scandinavian films about people stuck in self-destructive ruts, but the specificity and oddball humor Trier employed there serve him all the better with his American debut, Louder Than Bombs.

★★★☆☆ Following the acclaimed Reprise (2006) and Oslo, August 31st (2011), anticipation was high for Joachim Trier's English language debut, the family drama Louder Than Bombs (2015). Unfortunately, the accompanying blast of reaction following its Cannes premiere wasn't as clamorous as expected. In fact, it could barely be heard. Gabriel Byrne plays Gene, a teacher and failed actor who is barely managing to hold his family together following the death of his wife, Isabelle (Isabelle Huppert) in a car accident that was actually a suicide. His eldest son Jonah (Jesse Eisenberg) is a precocious young sociology professor, whose wife Amy (Megan Ketch) has just had their first baby.

Additionally, they revealed that character ,Deena Lampard, will return for more drama. In their spoiler chat report, they stated: "Megan Ketch, who plays Deena, “is very good, and we’re getting her back early next year,” promises executive producer Robert King. “So, you’re going to find [the fight for Chumhum's business] is a continuing plot line. Blue Bloods fans will be seeing plenty more of Danny’s newest partner, Detective Maria Baez, because actress Marisa Ramirez has been officially boosted into series regular status.
Danny is of course brought to life by Donnie Wahlberg in the CBS series. Not so long ago, his partner was Detective Jackie Curatola, acted by the beautiful Jennifer Esposito. This, my friends, is the bitter side of what is very sweet news for Ramirez.
I’m a big fan of Esposito, who has had a tumultuous few years, which led up to her finally getting diagnosed with Coeliac disease. Many can argue that the network treated the actress unfairly when they booted her from the series due to an illness that is beyond her control. There are two sides to every dispute however. The actress scolded CBS publicly for what she called “shameful” behavior.

Marisa Ramirez has received a nice promotion from CBS.
The actress will be a series regular when Blue Bloods returns for Season 4 in the fall, after the former Against the Wall star joined the drama toward the conclusion of Season 3.
Ramirez's Detective Maria Baez will be the permanent partner of Donnie Wahlberg's Danny going forward.
She joined the cast following a falling out between producers and Jennifer Esposito in October and also after Megan Boone and Megan Ketch briefly stopped by to fill the void.

Blue Bloods has found a new temporary partner for Detective Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg). Marisa Ramirez (Against The Wall) has been cast for a five-episode arc playing Detective Maria Baez, who will be paired with Danny. The recurring gig comes with the possibility for Ramirez to continue as a regular next season. Ramirez’s first episode on Blue Bloods airs this Friday, and word of her casting started getting out as the network began to release images from the episode. Ramirez plays the third temporary partner for Danny this season, following a four-episode stint by Megan Ketch and a three-episode one by Megan Boone. They are filling the void left by the departure of series regular Jennifer Esposito who was put on an indefinite medical leave by Blue Bloods producer CBS TV Studios last fall and is unlikely to return to the show. Ramirez also recurs on ABC’s Body Of Proof this season.
