This made sense as a season finale.
The team, especially Tiffany, got justice (revenge) for Hobbs on FBI Season 6 Episode 13.
The more significant news was that Maggie returned from her forced hiatus for the finale.
This was good because the squad isn't the same when she's away for whatever reason.
In reality, she was only gone for FBI Season 6 Episode 12. It just seemed longer.
Maggie appeared to have made a smooth transition into motherhood.
We even saw Ella onscreen as she played with her cousin, the daughter of Jess's estranged brother.
Wouldn't social services have checked if Jess's relatives would be willing to take in Ella?
Maggie spent her missing time in Ohio with Ella's grandparents.
Now, a brother has been located, one with a daughter around Ella's age.
Wouldn't any of those have been a better option than a career-minded FBI agent who would need to leave Ella with...

Jubal shouldn't have been anywhere near this week's case.
Yet, there he was, front and center, on FBI Season 6 Episode 12.
As soon as he recognized that the girls who overdosed had gotten the tainted pills from his godson, Jubal needed to tap out.
Instead, he doubled down. And everything went downhill from there.
This is hardly the first, nor will it be the last, case of an agent being too close. There's been at least one each season.
For example, in this season, how about FBI Season 6 Episode 3, when Oa used Gemma's drug-dealing friend Cate to entrap her Ukrainian extortionist boyfriend, Luka?
Gemma didn't much like finding out her friend had gotten killed as part of an FBI operation, one of the many things that have set back that relationship. Gemma also didn't like being quizzed about her drug use. Go figure.
There's only one episode remaining in this season.

This was a much-overdue showcase for Oa that finally addressed the effects of his time with the Army in Afghanistan.
Not surprisingly, a case involving several Taliban on FBI Season 6 Episode 11 stirred things up for him.
And, frankly, you can never go wrong with a guest turn by Kate Burton portraying a weaselly politician.
It wasn't readily apparent why the FBI even got called in on an abduction of a random guy from his apartment building.
It must have been because NYPD discovered his boss was Leo Grant, the world's third-richest man, and they didn't want the inevitable pressure from above. Or maybe they passed it off because Tyler had wealthy parents, which would also lead to outside interference.
Oa was just relieved to get a call about any case so he would have an excuse not to explain the most painful time in his life to Gemma.
This again...

Tonight on CBS’ FBI, viewers will be made privy to a “darker” aspect of Special Agent Omar Adom “Oa” Zidan’s past.
In the season’s antepenultimate episode, “No One Left Behind,” Jubal’s team is thrown into a highly political case after four members of the Taliban are shot and one is kidnapped in New York — with no record of them ever entering the country. Having served in the U.S. Army, the case will hit very close to home for Oa (played by original cast member Zeeko Zaki), who in turn struggles to open up to Gemma (guest star...

It was predictable that a kidnapped pregnant woman would have an emotional impact on the sudden new mother, Maggie.
She ended up becoming extra invested during FBI Season 6 Episode 10.
And the events of the case should definitely affect Maggie and the team.
Again, in the beginning, it was a most tenuous case for the team even to be taken on after a federal security guard got killed while essentially showing off for his disinterested online date.
The NYPD officer at the scene should have pronounced the guard a moron for his actions and not bothered the FBI.
But then they would have missed out on a case that got more interesting as it went, finishing up with that old trope, a showdown with a heavily armed radical religious cult.
At least Maggie's state of mind at being forced into motherhood finally got tackled, rather than just being lightly alluded to...

That was a philosophical debate that was long in coming.
Stuart and Nina wrestled with a question that plagues many professional couples in dangerous jobs on FBI Season 6 Episode 9.
In their case, the problem is on steroids, as there's an infant son involved as well.
And, just to ratchet things up a bit more, they had to pose undercover as a couple as the team attempted to solve the murder of a well-respected and now retired FBI agent.
No pressure whatsoever.
It was good to see that even highly skilled professionals who are parents to an infant still have to deal with sleep loss. There's just no getting around it.
Scola was overreacting with his talk of taking separate transportation on a trip just to improve their chances of at least one of them arriving alive and being there for their son.
Nina did well in minimizing the eye-rolling and the sarcasm he deserved,...

So this is what Tiffany gets for a spotlight episode?
She spent most of FBI Season 6 Episode 8 running off half-cocked, which was so unlike her.
That's because Tiff was still blaming herself for the death of Hobbs on FBI Season 6 Episode 1.
At the time, it seemed like the producers were simply following up on the promise of a big agent death. Instead, it was like "Who?" with the rest of the hour spent fleshing out Hobbs' character so the viewers could feel something.
Has Hobbs' name even come up over the past couple of months? If so, I missed it.
You'd think that the first agent on the scene during a fellow agent's death would have had to undergo some extensive on-screen counseling.
Instead, it appears that Tiffany must have received an offscreen, monosyllabic session with Isobel:
Isobel: You good?
Tiffany: I'm good.
Isobel: Ok. Get back to work.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for FBI: International Season 3 Episode 8 “Remove the Compromise.”] After going after the cartel responsible for his girlfriend Rina’s death on FBI, does Jubal (Jeremy Sisto) have any sense of closure with the latest International episode? Not necessarily. Upon hearing there’s an ongoing investigation into the Vargas family—Antonio (David Zayas) is behind bars—Jubal hops a flight to Budapest. Once there, he’s tested with the CIA planning to just take out the nephew about to take over (and anyone else at a weapons sale) with a missile. When it becomes clear that the CIA doesn’t care about collateral damage, however, Scott (Luke Kleintank) insists on putting himself in the line of fire and Jubal eventually joins him, resulting in a shootout—yes, Jubal in the field, in the middle of the action, something we don’t usually see! In the end, the nephew survives (and will be locked up in ...

‘FBI’ Star Jeremy Sisto on Jubal’s ‘International’ Trip to Take Down Cartel That Killed Rina (Video)
FBI‘s Jubal Valentine (Jeremy Sisto) is heading to Budapest to join International‘s Fly Team for an episode that has been a long time coming: going after the drug cartel responsible for his girlfriend and former colleague Rina’s (Kathleen Munroe) murder. Check out TV Insider’s exclusive promo for the big episode above. Jubal has been working with the Fly Team and being a resource for them pretty often so far this season on FBI: International. And now, in the April 9 episode, “Remove the Compromise,” because of that close relationship he has with Scott Forrester (Luke Kleintank) and the others, Sisto says, “Jubal makes a decision to join them on a case that they’re working because it involves the drug cartel that was behind the murder of his girlfriend, Rina Trenholm, and behind a serious threat that his team was put in.” Jubal and his FBI team...

Polo will return to continue the storyline if the CBS procedural scores a renewal for Season 4.

The hit drama’s cast includes Luke Kleintank as Scott Forrester, Carter Redwood as Andre Raines, Vinessa Vidotto as Cameron Vo, Eva-Jane Willis as Megan “Smitty” Garretson, and Christina Wolfe as Amanda Tate.

Oa had himself one lousy day, didn't he?
First, it was his new girlfriend, Gemma, on FBI Season 6 Episode 4.
Then, it was a wild card of a Muslim FBI agent who served as a funhouse mirror for Omar.
Let's start with the latter first, since it was the more intriguing of the two storylines.
We can all agree that Gemma is a mistake that Oa hasn't recognized yet.
Hassan, played by English actor Elyes Gabel (Scorpion), had a chip on his shoulder. He felt that he had to do more just to be accepted by the Wasps in the FBI.
As Oa explained to Hassan, he saw himself as an FBI agent, not a Muslim FBI agent.
They're both likely fooling themselves.
Oa can't ever escape the fact that others will view him as Muslim. But there's always going to be a place for someone such as Hassan who can...

Can no one in that New York FBI field office catch a break at long-term romance?
It was Oa's turn to be disappointed by love on FBI Season 6 Episode 3.
It shouldn't be said that no one has had a lasting relationship. Scola and Nina are still a couple and have a child together.
However, they aren't working together as she's headed off to the greener pastures at FBI: Most Wanted. (A starring role trumps recurring every time.)
But Maggie, Oa, Jubal, and Isobel have all had lengthy relationships fall apart. Might working for the Bureau have something to do with that?
After we're introduced to Gemma first thing, it was obvious that something terrible would happen to wipe that goofy grin off Oa's face.
On paper, the plucky kid from Queens and the wealthy socialite from Manhattan hardly seemed like an ideal match.
But, Ok, it's been a while for...

It’s not as easy for the FBIs to host big crossovers like Dick Wolf‘s other franchises, One Chicago and Law & Order; the Most Wanted team is on the move, and International is overseas. But thanks to video, we do see FBI‘s Jeremy Sisto bring Jubal Valentine to International often enough, including in the first two episodes of the third season. And the actor enjoys seeing that more. As was established from the start of the latest spinoff in the franchise, Jubal and Scott Forrester (Luke Kleintank) have history, with the former noting, “If I had to go to war and could only pick two agents to go shoulder to shoulder with, he’d be one of them.” “Those two are thick as thieves. They’ve been through it together. They’ve known each other for years, and their backstory is they’ve worked together many times,...

Maybe one day, Jubal will come out of a spotlight episode feeling better than when it began.
But FBI Season 6 Episode 2 was not that exception.
Instead, the world was dumping on Jubal from the get-go.
Sam called him about Tyler's getting suspended from school for drinking.
Tyler caving into peer pressure and drinking after complaining about not fitting in at his new school on FBI Season 6 Episode 1 really shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone.
Jubal should have just been happy it wasn't yet another possible relapse of Tyler's cancer.
But being a workaholic absentee father, Jubal felt the need to blame himself for passing along his alcoholic gene to Tyler.
Not that Sam helped Jubal at all. After getting Tyler off with having to undergo more therapy, she felt compelled to have Jubal go with him "so that he won't think you hate him."

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for FBI Season 6 Episode 2 “Remorse.”] As is the case quite often on a procedural drama, a tough day on the job coincides with a problem off it for Jeremy Sisto‘s Jubal Valentine in the latest FBI. The good news? Neither seems to result in long-term problems or concerns. Just as Jubal gets to work, his ex-wife Sam (Mara Davi) calls to tell him that their son Tyler (Caleb Reese Paul) was suspended after getting caught drinking. Jubal is worried given his own history with alcoholism; he’s talked to his son because he could have the gene. It was all hands on deck for the team as Jubal (Jeremy Sisto) told Tiffany (Katherine Renee Kane) she needed to be more assertive.
Little did Jubal know that his advice set the stage for one of his team members to perish.
Sadly, it paved the way for Hobbs (Roshawn Franklin) to be killed while undercover.

The long-delayed season premiere managed to be both surprising and disappointing.
FBI Season 6 Episode 1 did start with a bang. It also was topical, with terrorists and innocent civilians being killed as part of the narrative.
But it's a Dick Wolf production. "Ripped from the headlines" is to be expected.
Also, after the writers' and actors' strikes had been settled, there were rumors that a character would be written off the series.
The logical choice to be gone was Stuart Scola. After all, things hadn't been good between him and Isobel since FBI Season 5 Episode 17, when she refused to inform him that his baby mama, Nina Chase, had been shot on a dangerous mission.
Isobel had her reasons. Scola was undercover, and she didn't want him distracted. He also didn't like the fact that everyone felt the need to lie to him, basically under Isobel's orders.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the FBI Season 6 premiere “All the Rage.”] We knew that FBI would be losing one of its own to kick off the sixth season, but that doesn’t mean we were prepared for how it goes down! Just before the team starts tracking down a terrorist, Jubal (Jeremy Sisto) encourages Tiffany (Katherine Renee Kane) to be more assertive. And one of the ways in which she does that is by enlisting Hobbs (Roshawn Franklin) for an undercover surveillance op. However, after she encourages him to follow the suspect into the bathroom, he’s shot and killed. What’s worse: The terrorist remains at large at the end of the episode. Kane takes us inside this episode and teases how Tiffany’s dealing with her grief going forward. Talk about Tiffany stepping up. It comes about after Jubal talks to her about being more assertive. What’s been holding her back from doing so ...

This would be an opportune time to catch up on the first five seasons of FBI.
With the ongoing Writers' Guild and SAG/AFTRA strikes, who's to say when new episodes from FBI Season 6 will be appearing?
So while viewers can revisit episodes up until now, we'll look ahead at everything we know about the upcoming season.
FBI has discovered an approachable blend of suspense and drama, with a multi-agency group of geeks employing technology to support the agents who close cases.
It must be said that FBI is less character-driven than Dick Wolf's other two franchises: Law & Order and One Chicago.
However, FBI's popularity has led to two spinoffs: FBI: International, entering its third season, and FBI: Most Wanted, heading into its fifth season. Unlike the more stable parent show, the two spinoffs have been plagued by cast changes.

A combination season finale and anniversary episode should have had a little bit more oomph to it.
Still, FBI Season 5 Episode 23 was an enjoyable blend of a suspenseful case continually interrupted by two agents' medical drama.
But that's FBI for you, which has been balancing the procedural and personal for 100 episodes.
Often, the action tilts toward the procedural, which was the situation again this week. And, to allow time for Scola and Nina's baby drama, the case came together a little too simply.
When a hotshot surgeon was killed and posed Criminal Minds-style, that just screamed serial killer.
And it took, what, a few hours to prove that to be the case when a respected military officer turned up murdered in precisely the same sicko way.
Maggie and Oa barely had time to unpack the first red herring before the second murder happened while the person of interest was still in the interrogation room.

Again, Maggie's moral compass gets spun on a pair of similar abductions.
That's because she was offended by the two very different ways those two cases were handled on FBI Season 5 Episode 21.
A college student, who was also the daughter of a prominent senator, was abducted in a sketchy Brooklyn neighborhood.
Because of who Sen. David Becker was, everyone short of the Park Rangers got thrown into her disappearance.
It made sense that the FBI might believe the kidnapping targeted the outspoken leftist senator, who had made waves in a divided Washington.
But after the senator denied he'd made any severe enemies, they had to take another look at honor student Allison.
Unfortunately, the ex-cop turned Pi who had been tailing Allison proved to be a red herring, just someone looking to damage her father's reputation.
After the agents determined why Allison was in that section of the city regularly,...

Having Jubal front and center in an episode is always a good decision.
That's even more true when 9/11 gets mixed in like the tragedy was on FBI Season 5 Episode 19.
Muslim terrorists have been a TV boogeyman staple in the 22 years since 9/11. At least this episode was pretty even-handed in its treatment of Muslims.
It was pretty clear that Jubal was going to be at the heart of the episode as soon as Isobel revealed that he would be receiving the Distinguished Service Award.
It was so in character for Jubal to downplay his getting the award as a measure of his longevity instead of the quality of his work.
It's not just his modesty. He also can replay every mistake he's ever made. He's a glass-half-empty kind of guy.
He didn't have time to savor his accomplishment (not that he would have) because the case of the murdered truck driver fell into the FBI's lap.

There had to be some consequences from the ballyhooed FBI crossover.
Even though Nina and her baby were apparently all right, Scola was still discontented on FBI Season 5 Episode 18.
You can't blame him. Isobel handled things poorly during that terrorist hunt on that crossover, and Nina, then Scola, ended up paying for it.
It all came down to why Isobel sent Nina with Jubal to Rome in the first place. Initially, it appeared to be just an abduction, which sounded safe enough for a pregnant agent to work.
But once the words "terrorism" and "mass casualty event" started getting tossed around, that wasn't a situation in which Nina should have been.
Sure, it's simple to second-guess Isobel's decision after the fact. And Nina can be blamed for putting herself in the line of fire, ignoring Jubal's instruction to hang back as the team invaded the terrorist stronghold without sufficient backup.

How much clamor there was for a crossover of the three FBI series is debatable.
Still, a reasonably seamless narrative ran through FBI: International Season 2 Episode 16, FBI Season 5 Episode 17, and FBI: Most Wanted Season 4 Episode 16.
That makes sense because crossovers are old hat for Dick Wolf.
One of the earliest crossovers was Wolf's Og Law & Order, crossing over with Tom Fontana's Homicide in 1996. The two series crossed over twice more during their runs.
Richard Belzer's John Munch, the crossover king who appeared in 10 different series, even moved from Homicide to Wolf's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in 1999.
Subsequently, crossovers have become more commonplace between and within Wolf's One Chicago and Law & Order franchises. So this FBI crossover was inevitable.
There was a crossover between FBI and FBI: Most Wanted in 2020. There also have been phone calls among the three teams.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the FBI–FBI: International–FBI: Most Wanted crossover “Imminent Threat.”] The second global, three-show crossover for The FBIs is action-packed, and the stakes couldn’t be higher — especially for Scola (John Boyd) and Nina (Shantel VanSanten). Nina joins Jubal (Jeremy Sisto) in Rome to kick it all off and is shot while in the field. And with Scola undercover and Nina pregnant with his child, Isobel (Alana De La Garza) decides it’s best not to tell him. Needless to say, he does find out in the worst way, and to say he’s furious would be an understatement; at one point, Remy (Dylan McDermott) has to talk Scola down while he holds his gun on a perp in their custody. But by the end of the crossover, the three teams — FBI, International, and Most Wanted — have not only stopped a terrorist attack but Scola’s also flown to Rome to be with ...

A kidnapping in Rome sets off events that have all three “FBI” teams banding together in a three-hour event on Tuesday, April 4. Jeremy Sisto’s character, special agent Jubal Valentine, jets from the New York Field office to Italy to help out “FBI: International” star Scott Forrester, who’s played by Luke Kleintank. Meanwhile, Stuart Scola (John Boyd) goes undercover and teams up with Remy Scott (Dylan McDermott) of “FBI: Most Wanted” to stop a mass-casualty terror attack in New York City.
Ahead of the episode, Sisto told TheWrap what to expect from Jubal being a “fish out of water” overseas without his usual team around him, his theory on why his character speaks Italian, and which actor he’d like to play Jubal’s Italian grandfather should a future storyline require it.
The crossover starts with “FBI: International,” then segues back to “FBI,” finishing with the Fugitive Task Force on “FBI: Most Wanted.

Jeremy Sisto left behind the Joc — and New York — for the second global crossover in the FBI franchise. The April 4 event sees the FBI, International, and Most Wanted teams join forces to solve a case that starts overseas before returning stateside. “Jubal usually goes out of the Joc when some big personal issue is going on his family’s health or his battle with his sobriety. But this is not that,” Sisto said when he recently stopped by TV Insider to preview the action-packed event. Rather, an abduction that the Fly Team is investigating is connected to a bomb they’re looking into at 26 Fed, and so Jubal and Nina (Shantel VanSanten) head to Rome. The teams get along great. “They feel like family pretty quickly. They’re like cousins,” Sisto shared. And yes, he and VanSanten did fly over to Rome to film those scenes. But what’s not...

The FBI universe will cross paths again early next month.
CBS has announced the FBI, FBI: International, and FBI: Most Wanted teams join forces in a high-stakes, action-packed new three-hour global crossover event, “Imminent Threat,” Tuesday, April 4.
The three intrepid teams work together when the abduction of an American citizen in Rome reveals an international plot to carry out a mass-casualty terror attack in New York City.
Sounds like another high-octane event, right?
The network has also dropped loglines for the three episodes, and it sounds like another energetic crossover event.

Someone has to make those hard calls.
Isobel showed she's not afraid to do so on FBI Season 5 Episode 15.
Not that she had another choice, with a super strain of Covid in the wrong hands. Isobel was willing to do what had to be done to keep that from being unleashed on the world.
This crime begs the question of why. With a global pandemic killing millions since 2019, why would any lab create a super strain of Covid? Wasn't the continually mutating Covid-19 virus effective enough in thinning the population?
And it turns out that such a virus was also an attractive target for terrorists. Go figure.
How about that lab's screening practices? How did the fact that Cilic was a religious terrorist in his homeland slip by?
No, instead, Cilici found a patsy to do his dirty work. Sure, he was eventually fired, but he had set his plan in motion by then.

Oa almost stepped in it financially.
Fortunately, a case helped him to step back from the brink on FBI Season 5 Episode 14.
After Missy Peregrym returned from maternity leave on FBI Season 5 Episode 7, much of the narrative has focused on Maggie.
While Maggie was recovering from that sarin attack, Oa took the lead, action-wise, receding somewhat since she returned.
That's understandable, as Maggie, the other lead agent, had some screen time to make up for after those missed episodes.
Oa moved back to the front as he considered making what amounts to a significant investment: Buying a condo.
There hasn't been a lot of Oa's personal life onscreen recently. So this was as good a time as any for Oa to be involved with something outside the office.
Oa was hardly recognizable, however. When did he become a spendthrift with a taste for the finer things in life?
Sure, he's between girlfriends right now,...
