Yesterday, as a sniper shot 13 police officers in Dallas, killing five, Michael Bautista logged onto Facebook Live and began recording. He speaks directly to viewers, calmly narrating the horrors he’s captured on his phone camera. He responded in real time to comments he received on the social network: “Don’t worry, I’m behind a tree… I’m safe, man, don’t worry about it. I appreciate it though, I love y’all.”
Just the day before, Black Lives Matter activists gathered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to mourn the death of Alton Sterling, who sold CDs outside a convenience stores; his killing was captured by bystanders. And, even as they mourned, many of those activists were watching Diamond Reynolds in St. Paul, Minnesota on Facebook Live as she streamed her nightmarish ordeal with the Roseville County Police Department after an officer shot and killed her boyfriend, Philando Castille, during a routine traffic stop.

Marvel's newest comic-book adaptation features Bradley Cooper playing a space raccoon and Vin Diesel voicing a tree. We're sold. The film, which is currently slated to premiere on Aug. 1, stars Chris Pratt (and Pratt's Zero Dark Thirty abs), Zoe Saldana, and Cooper and Diesel playing the aforementioned Rocket Raccoon and Groot, respectively. The trailer briefly outlines the backstories of the group, which also includes pro wrestler Michael Bautista as Drax the Destroyer. It doesn't give any indication of the film's villain, but there seem to be plenty of space chases and action sequences, which is really all we can ask for.

David Michael Bautista, Jr. and Randal Keith Orton have a very long and storied history. That history looks like it will be revisited and renewed come WrestleMania 30 on April 6th in New Orleans. Batista returned to the WWE on the January 20th edition of Monday Night Raw, and almost immediately declared his intentions to relieve The Viper of his WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Randy, of course, isn’t thrilled at the prospect of potentially having to battle his former Evolution team-mate and is no doubt relying on The Authority for some back up.
Many fans have cried out for this match not to happen and instead want Daniel Bryan in a match with the champion. As much as I would love to see The American Dragon win the title at ‘Mania, I feel that Batista/Orton could give us an outstanding journey leading up to and including WrestleMania itself.
