When you’re a director like Ridley Scott, you can pretty much get any actor you want for your movies, and for his last three or four movies, he’s assemble some amazing ensembles. That was definitely true for Prometheus and The Martian, and just as much for his Prometheus sequel, Alien: Covenant.
Of course, Michael Fassbender is back as the synthetic android David (and as a second synthetic named Walter), and actress Katherine Waterston (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) takes on the strong female role of Daniels. Playing the ship’s captain, Christopher Oram, is Billy Crudup, while Danny McBride plays the pilot Tennessee, while Jussie Smollett, probably best known for his role as Jamal on Fox’s Empire, is Sergeant Ricks.

Remaking a classic movie can be tough, especially when it's a classic horror movie like John Carpenter's Halloween, which Rob Zombie already took a crack at in 2007 to mixed results. (His first Halloween remake made $58 million in domestic gross, but the sequel Halloween II made about half of that two years later.)
It was reported that director David Gordon Green would be tackling the latest attempt to revive the horror franchise, and he brought on his long-time friend and collaborator to co-write and produce the film.

Talking to Danny McBride earlier today, Lrm asked the actor about how that was going, and this was his response:

The waters are about to become pretty muddy for Rosie and Villa!
And it's Terminator: The Sarah Chronicles vet Brian Austin Green who has been cast to muddy them.
Green has been cast as a series regular for Rosewood Season 2.
Green will be playing Aaron Slade, East Miami Police’s newest member with a mysterious past, who will both challenge and complicate an already messy situation between Dr. Beaumont Rosewood, Jr. (Morris Chestnut) and Detective Annalise Villa (Jaina Lee Ortiz).
He doesn’t trust anyone and hates the idea of partnerships and teams – which will keep Rosewood and Villa on their toes as they go to great lengths to figure him out.
As the team begins to investigate and uncover the real Aaron Slade, the twosome learn of his storied past.
While Green most recently starred in Anger Management, he'll always be known around here for his run as David Green on Beverly Hills,...

The heroes in a half-shell will be back on the big screen next summer and today brings word of another live-action actor slated to join them. Tyler Perry, most recently spotted in David Fincher’s Gone Girl, has been added to the cast of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 as scientist Baxter Stockman. He joins returning cast members Megan Fox and Will Arnett, who are locked in to reprise their roles as intrepid Channel 6 reporter April O’Neil and her cameraman Vern Fenwick, respectively.
Perry’s character won’t be the only newcomer to the franchise. Arrow star Stephen Amell recently boarded as hockey stick-wielding vigilante Casey Jones, and Victoria’s Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio (Gossip Girl) is set to play Vern Fenwick’s love interest. Fan favorites Bebop and Rocksteady, two of Shredder’s idiotic lackeys, are also touted to make appearances.

The Supreme Court ruled in favor of Hobby Lobby on Monday in what's been a very buzzy, controversial case. The company has been fighting against Obamacare, saying that its owners should not have to provide certain birth control coverage to employees, because it violates their religious beliefs. Meanwhile, under the Affordable Care Act, employer insurance plans must cover contraception. Churches and other religious institutions are exempt from the requirement, but at question has been whether private, for-profit companies can use religion as a way to get out of certain federal requirements. Since you're probably seeing the Hobby Lobby case show up on the news or in your Facebook feed, here's what you should know: First up: what is Hobby Lobby? It's an arts-and-crafts store based in Oklahoma and privately owned by the Green family. There are 520 stores in 42 states. So like Michaels? Yep, exactly. What does religion have to do with it?...

Natalie Portman is many things: an Oscar-winning actress, a mother, a fearless collaborator. And, in "Thor: The Dark World," she gets to be something else altogether: a fish out of water.
The sequel to 2011's surprisingly effective "Thor," which saw the Norse God of Thunder (and, apparently, superhero), played by the rugged Chris Hemsworth, displaced on Earth after enraging his father (Anthony Hopkins). On Earth, Thor learned humility. He also got to stomp around and wonder aloud what coffee was. It was pretty cute.
In "Thor: The Dark World," though, it's Portman's turn to feel uncomfortably out of place. As Jane Foster, a brilliant scientist who is dealing with anomalies in the space-time continuum and the heartache of her otherworldly boyfriend leaving for galaxies unknown. After she is infected with a terrible cosmic weapon, Thor brings her to Asgard, his home world, where Jane gets to interact with all of the craziness there.
