Is history repeating itself? Anthony Scaramucci seems to think so.
The former White House communications secretary — who was ousted after just 10 days on the job — tweeted Wednesday night that New Yorker reporter Ryan Lizza “is the Linda Tripp of 2017.”
Lizza conducted the instantly infamous, on-the-record interview with Scaramucci in which the latter slammed several White House staffers. In addition to comparing Lizza to Tripp, the New York financier also tweeted that “People know. And he is up at night not being able to live with himself.”

Anthony Scaramucci says New Yorker writer Ryan Lizza — the reporter who helped cost him his job as White House communications director — is a “lowlife” and this year’s Linda Tripp. “.@RyanLizza is the Linda Tripp of 2017,” the Mooch tweeted. “People know. And he is up at night not being able to live with himself.” He added that Lizza “absolutely taped the call without my permission,” using the hashtag “lowlife.” Scaramucci will get to elaborate when he appears Monday on CBS’s “Late Show With Stephen Colbert.” Also Read: Anthony Scaramucci Is Set to Appear With Stephen Colbert on the 'Late Show' Tripp.

The dramatic story behind Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp-Rousch’s volatile relationship — and the impact it had on Bill Clinton’s presidency — is coming to the big screen.
Simply titled Linda and Monica, the film will explore their rollercoaster friendship, which came to an abrupt and public end when it thrust Lewinsky’s affair with then-President Clinton into the national spotlight.
The film’s script, which is reportedly based in part on actual conversations between Lewinsky and Tripp-Rousch, was included on the 2016 Black List, the annual rundown of Hollywood’s top screenplays that have yet to be produced.

Linda Tripp-Rousch’s decision to secretly record her phone conversations with Monica Lewinsky famously helped expose the White House intern’s affair with then-President Bill Clinton.
Now, the complicated relationship between the two women is being turned into a movie by Amazon Studios — simply titled Linda and Monica — and Tripp-Rousch scoffingly has an idea about who should play her.
“They should check John Goodman’s availability,” she joked to Page Six, referring to the actor who portrayed her on Saturday Night Live during the scandal.

At their core, a lot of movies are about characters trying to maintain relationships with their close friends, like Captain America: Civil War, Bridesmaids, or Toy Story. But those movies rarely end with one of the friends completely and thoroughly ruining another friend’s life—although Civil War actually comes pretty close. Amazon is now preparing to make a movie about a tragic friendship like that, but it actually concerns two people who used to be even more famous than Iron Man and Captain America: Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp.
According to Deadline, Amazon Studios has picked up the rights to Linda And Monica, a movie about the friendship between the eponymous “D.C. pals” that fell apart when Tripp exposed that Lewinsky had been having an affair with President Bill Clinton. Later claiming that she was trying to protect her friend from ruthless politicians, Tripp secretly recorded Lewinsky...

Thirteen times; seriously, John Goodman has now hosted Saturday Night Live 13 times. I can’t think of anything significant I’ve ever done 13 times. And I was really looking forward to maybe rubbing Goodman’s episode in the faces of those who are just holding on until Fallon/Timberlake next week. It’s not that those two aren’t great; they are, and all of my fingers are crossed for them. But Goodman has been just as good in the past, an SNL champion if ever there was one.
It was 2001 when Goodman last hosted and, for reference, Ja Rule was the musical guest.

Tonight, John Goodman hosts for the thirteenth time, his first since November 2001. That’s a long time between gigs, especially for someone that hosted every year between 1989 and 2001.
