Oh, wow, this is good. The idea of getting a big-name actor to direct a short film about football that would basically serve as an advert for Pepsi (sponsors of the upcoming World Cup in Brazil) sounds – and indeed is – corporately cheesy. Presumably they were expecting some generically cheery people popping Pepsis on the pitch and maybe a cameo or two: but when they gave it to Idris Elba, what they got instead was "Unstoppable," a soulful slice of '70s English school life, in which a hopeless nerd suddenly reveals unexpected football skills, all done with playful handheld camerawork on warm, '70s-style filmstock and with a soundtrack from R3HAB and Eva Simons. But that's what they got. With a funked-up title sequence, a little bit of romance and a predictable but adorable storyline, this—Elba's first piece of directing—is a remarkably fun little short that also...

Atlanta (AP) — Pepsi is pairing singers and filmmakers to release a visual album that celebrates soccer during World Cup. Spike Lee, Timbaland, Idris Elba and Kelly Rowland are some of the artists whose work is featured on the Pepsi-curated album, "Beats of the Beautiful Game," to be released June 10. The soda company announced Monday its album will be a collection of 11 anthem-like songs and short films. "What I love about this is how creative it is," said Rowland, whose song "The Game" will have a video directed by Lee. "It's a project with a whole bunch of different artists being able to do different songs. I'm excited about being a part of something like this." The Janelle Monae track, "Heroes," was the first single to debut in April. The album will be released through Capitol Music Group's independent label, Caroline. Each week, a new track and short film will be...

The red carpet at the 2013 MTV Europe Music Awards was filled with flashy, tacky attire -- with just a few exceptions.
Katy Perry descended upon Amsterdam and the Ziggo Dome to perform her latest "Prism" single, "Unconditionally." But not before classing up the red carpet with a demure Zac Posen aqua-colored 60s inspired frock. She set it off with a Dolce & Gabbana headband and understated nude peep-toe pumps.
Katy's look is a complete 180 from Miley Cyrus' bawdy gangsta rap "dress" and trashy thigh-high boots.
Also gaining a stamp of approval is the night's host, Redfoo, who wore exactly what you would expect Lmfao's No. 1 party rocker to wear.
"Good Luck Charlie" star and Ema Artist on the Rise nominee, Bridgit Mendler, kept it simple and pretty in a black floor-length gown with a peek-a-boo cutout, and an easy, swept back updo.
Dutch singer-songwriter and Lmfao collaborator Eva Simons strayed...

One person who is noticeably missing from the list? Taylor Swift. Maybe Kim considers Swift a country artist, or maybe "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" just doesn't do it for him.
The 50 pop songs that Kim included in the mashup, according to the description on the video, are listed below.
1. Adele - "Set Fire To The Rain"
2. Adele - "Skyfall"

Paris Hilton and Lil Wayne have joined forces for a new Edm-inflected single. "Last Night" features Hilton's breathy vocals over a pulsing pop house beat that sounds more than a bit like an earlier song by her rumored ex-boyfriend, Nick van de Wall (better known as Afrojack).
Consider the following: "Take Over Control," a 2010 banger featuring Afrojack's production and Eva Simons' vocals, introduced van de Wall's sound to mainstream audiences. Listen to the drop, which comes in at 1:02.
Now listen to Hilton's new jawn, specifically the drop at, yes, 1:02:
Sound familiar?
Hilton, who debuted the track in June at an ill-fated DJ gig, stirred up a bit of controversy by opening a handbag and accessories store in the Muslim holy city of Mecca.
Parting lyrics, courtesy of Wayne Carter: "Excuse my french, but f--k the cameras / I wanna spend one night in Paris."
