"The Following" continues to confound us. It seems like each season starts out promisingly, goes off the rails in the middle, and then comes back around at the end. And here we are near the end of Season 2 with Episode 2.13, "The Reaping," on its way. Will it follow the same pattern?
Again we ask: Why the hell does this show need 15 episodes per season? Stick with 12, or 13 at the most, and maybe things will improve. Powers-that-be, are you listening?
In any event, here are some stills and a new promo!

Review Ron Hogan 26 Mar 2014 - 07:15
Has The Following really crossed a line in this week's episode?
This review contains spoilers.
2.10 Teacher's Pet
The Following may have well crossed a line to turn off its viewership this week. For 26 episodes, the show has done everything imaginable to alienate viewers. Lots of people getting killed in gruesome ways, serial killers offered up as characters we're supposed to root for, children in peril, “classic Poe,” Ryan Hardy's slow transformation from troubled cop to outright sociopath, Mike's father being murdered just to provoke a brief emotional reaction, and some foaming-at-the-mouth poisoning courtesy of Joe's former cult leader and spiritual guru. Entire families have been murdered in cold blood. Corpses have been used as dance partners and implied sex dolls. Any number of horrible, depraved thing shave occurred, yet there's one line the show hasn't crossed: they haven't killed any animals.
That changed this week.

Fox released only a few stills from next week's Episode 2.10 of "The Following," entitled "Teacher's Pet," and no, they don't reveal anything else about that shocker of an ending we received this week. But provided you're all caught up, we do have a few more details about it to share...
TV Guide did a quick Q&A with returning series co-star Natalie Zea (Claire), who revealed a few tasty tidbits. The highlights are below; be sure click the link at the bottom of the page for the rest.
How do we get Claire back into the story?
Zea: Joe sends out a video [message] that he's alive, and I decide that enough is enough. If he is not dead, we need to do something about this because I cannot live the rest of my life looking over my shoulder. So I say, several times, that I need to talk to Ryan Hardy.

Joe Carroll has a new follower who'll be joining the fray in "The Following" Season 2 as it's just been announced that Mackenzie Marsh (Hiding in the Open) has signed on for a recurring guest role as Tilda.
Per TV Guide, Tilda is a woman with anger issues who forms an attachment to the escaped serial killer. Though she's feisty on the outside, Tilda also has a deep sense of insecurity stemming from years of ridicule as well as a soft romantic side that has yet to be uncovered.
Given his activities thus far this season, we're pretty sure Joe will have no problem uncovering said romantic side.
