- (1980s-2012) He ran a charter boat business out of City Island in the Bronx or Greenport, Long Island in New York City.
- (1940-1960s) A studio musician who backed singers like Aretha Franklin and Bobby Vinton. He produced 40 records including albums by John Coltrane and Zoot Sims. He played with Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, Benny Goodman, Arie Shaw, Max Roach, and Charlie Parker. He filled in for a late Theolonius Monk who was appearing with saxophonist Coleman Hawkins' group.
