Feels Like Rehearsed Time: Kasdan Explores First Love For Second Film
Jonathan Kasdan, also a director like brother Jake and father Lawrence, attempts to give us one of life’s most memorable experiences with his second feature, The First Time, which is all about the first time we fall in love, here told in the standard heterosexual vein. However, Kasdan’s little love birds get a double whammy, falling not only in love for the first time, but also, having sex for the first time. Well, isn’t that special.
Reciting unrequited words of love to himself in a dark alley outside of a high school party, Dave Hodgman (Dylan O’Brien) is interrupted by Aubrey Miller (Britt Robertson), who inquires what he’s doing. Her friends, who she barely knows, are whoring it up inside. His might be too. Dave confesses that he’s been dying to get with the girl of his dreams,...

The 'Teen Wolf' & 'Secret Circle' stars collide in this new coming-of-age movie. Watch & love. How much cuteness can one romantic indie comedy hold? We'll find out when The First Time — starring Teen Wolf's Dylan O'Brien, The Secret Circle's Britt Robertson and Victorious' Victoria Justice — hits theaters later this month. When the movie begins, Dave (Dylan) is pining over his dream girl Jane (Victoria), but after meeting Aubrey (Britt), Dave will reevaluate where his heart truly lies. Not only am I psyched to see Britt in action again, following the tragic cancelation of The Secret Circle, but I'm also stoked that Dylan is finally playing a character who gets the girl! (Oh, Lydia, will you ever come around?) For all you teen TV junkies out there, The First Time also features Lamarcus Tinker (One Tree Hill) and Matthew Fahey (Awkward) Watch the full theatrical trailer for...

Mercedes - "I Will Always Love You"Arguably the best performance by anyone all season, Amber Riley's voice is perfect for this Whitney Houston classic ... especially because the episode happened to air just three days after the legend passed away in February. Oh, and Mercedes is torn between Sam (Chord Overstreet) and Shane (Lamarcus Tinker), but really, it's all about Whitney.Santana - "Rumour Has It/Someone Like You" and "Shake It Out"Santana was tough. We love Naya Rivera's voice but really feel her best performances this season came when she was featured with her fellow ladies. First up, Santana, Mercedes and the Troubletones taking on Adele in the ultimate girl mash-up of "Rumour Has It" and "Someone Like You." And we just adore this slowed down rendition of Florence + the Machine's "Shake It Out," with Mercedes and Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz), as a song of support for...

var brightcovevideoid = '1453504305001'; Jennifer Hudson nailed "I Will Always Love You" by the late Whitney Houston in an emotional musical tribute at Sunday's Grammy Awards. But on Tuesday, Glee's Amber Riley also had a turn singing the icon's biggest hit. On the Valentine's Day episode of Fox's hit musical show, Mr. Schuester (Matthew Morrison) gives the glee clubbers an assignment to sing romantic songs. When Riley's character, Mercedes, has a realization in one of her God Squad meetings about her love life, she tells the football player she's been dating, Shane (Lamarcus Tinker), about cheating with Sam, played by Chord Overstreet.

While the song choice served to move along the plot — which revolved around the love triangle between Riley's Mercedes and her two beaus, footballer Shane (Lamarcus Tinker) and fellow Gleek Sam (Chord Overstreet) — it was particularly stirring, considering its timing.

One of the songs on the upcoming episode of "Glee" has grown to take on even deeper meaning since Whitney Houston's passing on Sat., Feb. 11.
On the Valentine's Day episode, entitled "Heart," Mercedes (Amber Riley) sings Houston's legendary track "I Will Always Love You" as she decides between two men in her life: ex Sam (Chord Overstreet) and current boyfriend Shane (Lamarcus Tinker). The "Glee" version hit the internet on Friday. (Listen to Amber Riley sing "I Will Always Love You"here.)
But shortly before the somber 2012 Grammys kicked off, Riley spoke with E! about the experience of covering Houston and, coincidentally, meeting her this past week.
"Whitney's music meant so very much to me. I was very very choked up when I heard about her passing. I just met her this past Thursday," an emotional Riley said. "I've grown up listening to her voice ringing throughout our household.

With a cover of Whitney Houston/Dolly Parton's "I Will Always Love You" set to be included in the Tuesday, Feb. 14, episode of Glee, producers of the Fox musical dramedy on Saturday were mulling whether to add a tribute to the late singer during the episode. The song, which Houston covered in 1992, will be a big number in Tuesday's Glee, with Amber Riley's Mercedes set to perform it as she struggles to decide between ex Sam (Chord Overstreet) and current boyfriend Shane (Lamarcus Tinker). A spokesman for 20th Television, the studio behind Glee, told The Hollywood Reporter on Saturday

Everything’s better with a little Helen Mirren — and Glee is no exception to the rule. Of course, everything’s also better with some righteous plot development that stays true to core characters, and that point was also driven home in “Yes/No,” the show’s first new episode of 2012, and (in my humble opinion) best episode of Season 3.
The news that Coach Beiste had eloped with Cooter Menkins over the winter break not only elicited a verbal barb from Sue Sylvester that was on par with any insult she ever spat back in her Season 1 heyday (offering her congrats...

Fans’ mixed reaction to last night’s Glee is loud and clear. And I’m right there with you on much of it. Here’s a bit of what you had to say:
–”‘We Are Young’ reminded me of the ‘old’ Glee”
– “The only problem I had with the show was how quickly and easily Glee wrapped up several story-lines in what I considered to be a totally unrealistic manner.”
– “Jenna Ushkowitz is such an unsung hero on this show.”
But one thing I think stirred little debate (at least from what I saw on Abby West’s recap) was...

White chocolate or the promise of "beautiful cocoa babies" — which will Mercedes choose?

Yes, kids, it appears that rumors of Sam Evans' demise have been greatly exaggerated. After TVLine's report that Chord Overstreet is returning to "Glee," EOnline got the scoop that he'd be back in the mix by episode 8, when the McKinley High New Directions will compete in Sectionals.
It's also been reported that Overstreet will be back on a recurring basis -- so he's not a series regular, but he could potentially be around just as often as he was last season.
As die-hard Sam fans, we're hoping that he makes a big entrance -- may we suggest that every guy in New Directions comes down with a brutal case of laryngitis just before the big performance and Sam is just in time to save the day? Just saying.
Of course, given the timing of his return, it's possible that he'll be back... at a rival glee club. Let's just hope not.

It's Jacob Ben Israel (Josh Sussman) and his microphone, so this must be the start of a new school year at McKinley High. We get equal parts heavy-handed exposition and salacious gossip-mongering, just what we need to know that yes, my darlings: Glee is back!
Allow me to recap the recap: Mercedes and Sam are "so last June" and Sam moved out of state when his father got a job. Mercedes has a new football-playing boyfriend, Marcus (Lamarcus Tinker), and he knows she's going to be a big star. Artie and Tina are juniors, but Mike Chang is a senior, as are Finn, Rachel, and Kurt. Finn has absolutely no idea what he wants to be when he grows up, but Kurt and Rachel are heading for New York City as fast as they can click their shiny red heels together and say, "There's no place like Broadway."

None of the people in the above photo are dating each other.
When high school journo Jacob Ben Israel asked Mercedes (Amber Riley) if she was still dating Sam (Chord Overstreet) at the beginning of "Glee's" season 3 premiere, she replied, "Honey, that is so June."
She's right. It's been a while. With that in mind, we've assembled this handy list of the many tangled "Glee" romantic entanglements and where they stand (if anywhere) as of this fall.
Mr. Schuester & Emma Pillsbury: We love it! They're happily cohabitating. But, wait -- we're not sure they've quite consummated that cohabitation yet. It would seem Emma's still having intimacy problems. Rut-roh.
Rachel & Finn: The odd couple is back together, though Rachel's Broadway-bound bond to Kurt struck us as way stronger than anything she's got going on with Finn. But sometimes that's how it goes in high school. We meet our true BFFs while boyfriends come and go.

"Glee's" third season kicks off Tuesday (Sept. 20) and, honestly, we're a little nervous. While season 1 was absolutely bananas (read: awesome), the show's sophomore year left us a little flat. Sure, all those Gaga songs were fun and it was cool seeing Gwyneth Paltrow get all steamy with Matthew Morrison but the whole season just kind of went, well, nowhere. Unless you count New York, the season 2 finale's destination, as some kind of closure.
In the off-season, show creator Ryan Murphy made changes (adding a real writers' room, for instance) and promised to eschew splashy guest stars and musician tribute shows to concentrate on the characters and the story. We're all in favor of that, but in the interests of being super-specific we've got these 5 questions we'd like to see answered in the season opener:
1. Who are the new kids? We can't wait to meet Sugar Motta (Vanessa Lengies) who...

What's in store for the third season of Glee? The premiere episode, "The Purple Piano Project," has been screened for critics (and creator Ryan Murphy has personally given these same critics still more teases). But don't read on if you want to be surprised!
Here's some of what we can expect on Glee this season:
In a plot development that will surprise absolutely no one, Blaine (Darren Criss) is moving from Dalton Academy (and the Warblers) to join Kurt at McKinley High. He also gets a "sexy" solo in the season opener. In a development that might surprise some people, Santana (Naya Rivera) is leaving New Directions (but unlike Sam, not necessarily forever!). The Glee Project runner-up Lindsay Pearce appears in the opener and has a "terrific" musical number. Project's Damian McGinty appears in episode four as a foreign exchange student who has some kind of relationship with Brittany (Heather Morris...

As Mercedes, Amber Riley concluded season two of Glee in one relationship - with Chord Overstreet's Sam, who has since left the show in a development the actress says will be "addressed" - and will soon enter into another one on season three, with a new character played by Lamarcus Tinker.
But there's a method to this dating madness, Riley said at Fox’s fall kickoff party:
"Mercedes is actually going to be shown in a different light for once. She has a relationship, and you’re going to see a softer side of her. She’s very lovey-dovey. It’s kind of like, ‘Oh my God? Is this Mercedes?!’ She dresses different. She’s girlier now.”
As for the Glee music ahead on season three, Riley offered the following tease: “We’re doing a lot more Broadway songs this season. The first couple episodes are very, very Broadway.

Actress Ashley Fink is the larger than life Glee personality Lauren Zizes. She knows what boys like, but does she know what her future on the hit Fox series will look like? Is she a favorite of yours? So many newcomers are headed our way for Season 3. Familiar faces need to stick around, too, don’t you think? I think her role model as a powerful woman and female wrestler no less fills a special place at William McKinley High.
Well, the scoop over at TV Line suggests fans of Glee won’t be seeing quite as much Zizes once Season 3 begins. The season premier, by the way, is scheduled for Sept. 20th. Want the full 411? Well, there are spoilers involved so read on at your own risk!
Spoiler Alert
Lauren Zizes is about to quit the New Directions Glee club and totally break the heart of the studly Puck (Mark Saling). What a bummer!

Just when we thought Glee was finished shaking up its cast...
TV Line confirms that Ashley Fink, who plays the character of Lauren Zizes, will appear on the September 20 season premiere... only to abruptly quit New Directions and break up with Puck before the episode concludes.
Glee Season 3 Promo: Dodgeball
Neither Fink nor a show spokesperson has commented on the development, though it's important to remember: the actress is not a series regular. She'll still appear on Glee, but only sporadically.
Still, many fans may be upset that Fink's screen time will be greatly reduced in favor of newbies such as the Glee Project winners and characters portrayed by Vanessa Lengies and Lamarcus Tinker.
Where do you stand? Do you wanna see more of Lauren?...

Prepare to not get Zized when Glee returns this fall.
Sources confirm to TVLine exclusively that Ashley Fink’s screen time will be drastically reduced following the Sept. 20 season premiere, which finds her recurring (and somewhat polarizing) character, Lauren Zizes, abruptly [Major Spoiler Alert] quitting New Directions and breaking up with her steady beau Puck (Mark Saling), who spent much of Season 2 wooing the demanding, plus-sized tough girl.
Glee Spoiler Alert: Brittany For President?
The news comes a week after Fox released the show’s official Season 3 gallery pics, which featured practically every major cast member — including recurring performers Dot Marie Jones and Lauren Potter — but not Fink.

With Lamarcus Tinker on board to romance Mercedes, Glee has cast another recurring player on season three. But don't look for her to be as sweet.
Vanessa Lengies has nabbed the role of Sugar, a wealthy, spoiled William McKinley student described by TV Line as a cross between "Molly Shannon and a New Jersey Housewife." Interesting. Intriguing. Kinda confusing.
Look for Sugar to try out for New Directions, despite a voice that makes Sue sound like Rachel.
Lengies currently appears on Hawthorne and has guest-starred on Castle and CSI: Miami, among other shows.
