A national tour is scheduled to follow starting in September.
The musical, which features a book by David Lindsay-Abaire and a score by Jeanine Tesori and Lindsay-Abaire, follows Kimberly (played by Clarke), a 16-year-old girl with a rare genetic condition that causes her to age rapidly, as she navigates a complicated family life and tries to fit in amongst her peers. I greatly looked forward to the ‘sequel’ rebirth of Hammer Horror into today’s age. It is important to note that those of us who delighted in the Halcyon days of Hammer Studios with the likes of Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, Sherlock Holmes, The Reptile, The Gorgon, and many others stalking around opulent yet budget-conscious sets with blood, gore, and low-cut necklines may be in for a bit of shock. Those types of films meaning the ‘Old’ Hammer Studios formula do not work for audiences of today. That is why Joe Stephenson Directed Doctor Jekyll (2023) is pivotal to the new ‘John Gore’ era of horror filmmaking, to that end it does not disappoint new and old on many fronts.

Eddie Izzard will play 23 characters in William Shakespeare’s Hamlet this winter in a new Off Broadway production adapted by brother Mark Izzard.
The Izzards’ Hamlet will begin a six-week limited run at the Greenwich House Theater on January 25, with opening night set for February 11. Selena Cadell directs.
The production reunites the Izzards and Cadell following last year’s sold-out run of Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations, which also played at the Greenwich House in addition to London’s West End. Hamlet is produced by WestBeth Entertainment, Mick Perrin Worldwide, and John Gore.
“I have always gravitated towards playing complex and challenging characters and Hamlet is the ultimate,” Izzard said in a statement. “This is a production for everyone, a timeless drama with an accidental hero. Selina, Mark, and I want audiences to see and hear an accessible, touching, scary and dramatic Hamlet.”

The elite and prestitious graduate acting program of New York’s The Julliard School will go tuition-free beginning this fall, a massive shift in the economics of arts schooling and student opportunities.
The school announced the move today, explaining that the four-year masters program, which currently costs each student about $53,300 per year, will eliminate the tuition after having raised $15 million including key gifts from Broadway theater producers Stephanie P. McClelland and John Gore.
The fourth year of the four-year program has always been tuition free in order for the school to compete with the many three-year arts schools, but the switch to entirely tuition-free is a major change in the world of elite arts education.
In a statement, the school said this morning, “Today we announced that the Drama Division’s Mfa in Acting will join Julliard’s growing list of tuition-free programs. Beginning in fall of 2024, all four years...

Juilliard’s Master of Fine Arts in Acting program will become tuition free for students starting in fall 2024.
The four-year program will then be free in perpetuity thanks to $15 million in existing scholarship funding, as well as a matching challenge grant from theater producer and Juilliard trustee Stephanie P. McClelland and her husband, Carter McClelland, a major gift from theater producer John Gore and gifts from the Jacques and Margot W. Kohn Foundation and several estates. This follows other acting programs that have stopped charging tuition, including the Yale School of Drama, which became tuition free for all students in the school starting in 2021 after a $150 million gift from David Geffen.
Juilliard’s four-year Mfa program was founded by Jim Houghton in 2012, with the goal of broadening employment opportunities for students, and has always had its fourth year of the acting program tuition free, alongside a living stipend. That stipend will remain in place.
