When it was released earlier this year, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown surprised players not just by resurrecting the long dormant franchise in stellar fashion but doing so by returning to the series’ roots. Rather than playing it safe with emulating the 3D formula of the fan-favorite Sands of Time trilogy that most modern gamers are likely familiar with, the developers at Ubisoft Montpellier opted instead to go all the way back to the original game’s 2D perspective for a more focused throwback to the exploration design of...

We’re back in December 2020, and Paramount announces a new dinosaur-themed animated series titled Ark: The Animated Series. The series was announced via a trailer during the 2020 Video Game Awards, also revealing that the series would be featuring a star-filled cast that would include Gerard Butler, David Tennant, Michelle Yeoh, Jeffrey Wright, Zahn McClarnon, Elliot Page, Karl Urban, Malcolm McDowell, Alan Tudyk, Russell Crowe, and Vin Diesel, all of whom will also serve as the executive producers of the series.
The series was based on the Ark: Survival Evolved video game, with the game’s creators Jeremy Stieglitz and Jesse Rapczak serving as the creators of the series as well. In June 2022, as the series entered post-production, it was revealed that both Monica Bellucci and Dee Bradley Baker had joined the series as well, with Gareth Coker as the composer. And that was more or less it for a while.

Paramount+ has unveiled the first six episodes of Ark: The Animated Series, which are now streaming on the service as of today. But the first season won’t be limited to just this batch, as a second part to the season will host seven more episodes, although the release date for those has yet to be announced.
While I haven’t played the source video game (Ark: Survival Evolved), the voice cast for Ark: The Animated Series definitely piques interest, as it hosts Oscar winners, fan favorites and even Doctors…The partial cast list includes Madeleine Madden, Michelle Yeoh, Russell Crowe, Gerard Butler, Jeffrey Wright, David Tennant, Elliot Page, Vin Diesel, Karl Urban, and more.
While that is a seriously impressive cast, perhaps the biggest draw for some is that Ark will be scored by the game’s composer Gareth Coker, who also provided the gorgeous music for Ori and...

Hot off the heels of the debut trailer for his feature film, Mario is back on Oct. 20 with a wild new game for Nintendo Switch, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope.
The game is the sequel to 2017’s shockingly good strategy game Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, which saw Nintendo’s mustachioed mascot team up with the Minions-esque Rabbids (themselves a spin-off of the Rayman series). Published by Ubisoft, that game took a surprising twist by merging both series into an Xcom styled strategy game that somehow stuck the landing with whimsy to spare,...
