Darice M. Jones is the Writer/Director of feature film She Wasn't Last Night. Darice is a narrative screenwriter, as well as a writer of short stories, poetry, and long form fiction. The current work is often focused on fantastic futures around the African Diaspora. Darice studied screenwriting and directing in LA and the SF Bay Area in the mid 2000s. In addition to writing and directing, Darice is also dream-worker, and coach. In 2018 and 2019, Darice directed 12 theater performances of short scripts based on the visual art featured in the ground-floor gallery of San Francisco's African American Art and Culture complex. Also in 2019, Darice participated in a "reunion reading" with fellow authors of her essay in the newly updated edition of the book, Colonize This! Young Women of Color on Today's Feminism. In 2020, Darice participated as a fellow alongside her wood//work collective cohort in an artists entrepreneur incubator at ZooLabs in Oakland, CA. In 2021, Darice will co-host an online movie review show, raise funding for the next feature, and collaborate with wood//work collective leadership to launch the Bijou Film Festival.
