Cancer survivor Davi Chris has tried out for this year’s Britain’s Got Talent.
In a newspaper interview Chris revealed that he didn’t make it through to the final 40 acts, because he didn’t impress Simon Cowell.
The opera singer, who Piers Morgan compared to previous winner Paul Potts, told Wrexham’s The Leader that the live audience gave him a standing ovation for his performance of ‘O’ Sole Mio’ in Manchester auditions.
“I think Piers and Amanda are great. They were very positive about me,” said the 47-year-old. “I don’t know why Simon had his opinion, maybe he thought it was too soon after Paul Potts enjoyed his success and they want something different.”
He added: “The whole thing was a bit of a blur for me and to be told by Simon at that stage I wasn’t going through was a blow but I...

Grab your popcorn kiddos, because tonight Hollywood Week is going to take a turn to the dramatic. If last night was all about laughter, tonight's grueling group challenge is sure to be filled with the opposite: drama, tears, egos, and eventually a little bit of singing and dancing.
You can pretty much guarantee we'll witness all of the following: cat fights, lots and lots of crying, a diva melt down, terrible group names (White Chocolate, anyone?), at least one group performance you wish you could buy on iTunes right now, and the crumbling of no less than one pre-season front runner. (Oh wait, that happened last night....we miss you Justin Williams.) Group week all but promises to bring out the best and the worst of American Idol and tonight you'll be treated to both.

Finally! After what felt like an eternity, "American Idol" served up the first dose of Hollywood Week on Tuesday night (February 9). In addition to the 181 potential superstars filing into the Kodak Theater, the show marked the debut of newest judge, talk-show host/ comedian Ellen DeGeneres, who quickly proved that she not only has plenty to say, but says it in an entertaining, thoughtful manner.
"So this is it," DeGeneres said, staring into fellow judge Simon Cowell's eyes as they sat down for the first day of Hollywood singing. "I come on, you leave."
The quip immediately put to rest the weeks of chatter about Cowell's imminent leave-taking at the end of this season and established what seems like a jovial tension between the two new co-workers.
