Actual great horror movies with a Halloween theme and Halloween as there main focus aren’t actually as widespread as you might expect. Obviously the Halloween franchise has some great editions, Trick ‘r Treat and Tales of Halloween are fantastic anthologies but there’s not a whole lot else. Black Pumpkin, as its title suggests, is indeed set during Halloween season and as a Halloween-themed killer, so could it kick off a new holiday-themed franchise?

Kathy Griffin and Lily Tomlin have signed on to appear at Michael Moore’s Traverse City Film Festival, now in its 15th year.
Griffin will appear at a screening of “Kathy Griffin: A Hell of a Story,” which explores how a photograph of the comedian holding a fake severed head of Donald Trump led to an FBI investigation. Tomlin, who co-stars in “Grace & Frankie” with Jane Fonda and is a Detroit native, will receive a lifetime achievement award.

Acquisitions
Paramount Pictures has bought worldwide rights to “Down Under Cover,” a buddy comedy starring Chris Hemsworth and Tiffany Haddish in a deal worth an estimated $40 million.
Paramount came out on top of the auction conducted by CAA and Filmnation at the Cannes Film Festival. Lionsgate, Sony, Netflix, Miramax and Stx were also in the running.
Producers include Hemsworth and Haddish along with “Avengers: Endgame” directors Joe and Anthony Russo and Mike Larocca, and Thematic Entertainment partners John Finemore, James Hoppe and Ben Grayson.
Hemsworth will play a detective who goes undercover to crack a series of casino heists in which the suspects are a troupe of Australian male erotic dancers. Haddish will portray his partner. The news was first reported by Deadline Hollywood.

Lady Gaga's got a thing with her fans. She calls them her little monsters. It's a great fandom nickname, akin to the Kiss Army in terms of recognizability. After all, there's a whole episode of The Simpsons based around Gaga's schtick. It's the worst episode The Simpsons has ever done, but that's not the point. It's a known quantity, and I have no doubt it's been one of the inspirations for Countess's collection of creepy children, alongside The Shining and Village Of The Damned. They're actual little monsters, and she's their mother.
Of course, she's not just their adopted mother, she's the actual mother of at least one child, courtesy of the good butchers at Murder House. That's right, Countess...
