Former DC Comics and Marvel comic book artist Chris Walker gives us a inside perspective on fanboy culture with Anti-Matter, an original web series comedy "about a NY comic store, its staff, and the regulars that drive them crazy." The series, starring Jill Butterfield, Christina Calph, Shannon Coffey, Kaite Johnson, Julie Katz, Aaron Kheifets, Pedro Lee, Kirstan Perry, Davram Stiefler, Justin Tyler, and Walter Vincent, is written and directed by Walker, who produces Anti-Matter on nights and weekends out of real-world New York comic book store Jim Hanley's Universe. “The basis for the humor in Anti-Matter is that as a comic fan, you’re hanging out with your buds and probably being an ass at someone’s place of business,” Walker told Wired.com. “I know because I was that guy. I’d come by Hanley’s and talk smack on new comics every Wednesday with everyone in the store right up until closing,...

TV stars Lisa Faulkner and Chris Walker have progressed to the Celebrity MasterChef quarter-final. The duo impressed judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace in last night's heat, edging out fellow celebrities Danielle Lloyd, Mark Little and Mark 'Chappers' Chapman. Walker's final meal was fish pie with mustard mash, followed by partridge breast wrapped in parma ham with bubble and squeak, root vegetables and a white wine and port sauce. Meanwhile, Faulkner impressed with scallops on a minted pea puree, (more)...

Apparently, inspired by Donald Glover’s Twitter campaign to be cast as Peter Parker in the next Spider-Man movie, some comic book artists decided to realize Glover’s dream, although not quite, since it’ll be in print form.
Comic book artists Chris Dibari (credits include Robin, Deadpool, Starship Troopers, The Hunger, Warhammer and Magician Apprentice) and Chris Walker (who’s worked as a colorist for Marvel and DC Comics on characters such as Spider-Man, Batman, and the X-Men), are both big fans of NBC comedy show Community, which Donald Glover co-stars in, and really dig his work on the series; they dig him so much that they decided to collaborate on the fictitious Spider-Man comic book, starring Glover.

Syfy announced its slate of original movies for the 2010-2011 season, including the promised "Sharktopus."
"Riverworld," based on the classic sci fi novels by Philip Jose Farmer, is a four-hour movie event that stars "Battlestar Galactica's" Tahmoh Penikett and "Smallville's" Laura Vandervoort.
The story centers on the greater part of humanity that lived on Earth suddenly finding themselves resurrected on a terraformed planet known as Riverworld. Among these people are war correspondent Matt Ellman (Penikett) and his fiancee (Vandervoort), both of whom had been killed and now find themselves alive and kicking, although separated. Matt enlists the help of Mark Twain (Mark Deklin) and a 13th-century female samurai warrior Tomoe (Jeananne Goossen).
Another four-hour movie event, "The Phantom," premieres in June and reimagines the classic comic strip. Ryan Carnes stars as Chris Walker/The Phantom, along with the legendary Isabella Rossellini as the villainous Lithia.
