“The Graduates,” which counts Chloé Zhao and John Cho among its executive producers and gets its world premiere at the Tribeca Festival, revolves around school shooting survivors who are unable to move on even one year later. It’s a compelling subject, for sure, but one on which no dramatic treatments have been nearly as astute or profound as what’s already been in the news.

Will is forging new relationships, including one with Dr. Smith, and Max shares what that means without spoiling any of the fun for you.
We also spoke with Molly Parker, Ignacio Serricchio, and Toby Stephens, who remind us where we've been and what we can expect.
Molly explains how Maureen feels about losing the kids.
"It's a bit of a bummer," she says with a chuckle.

(Credit: Diyah Pera/Netflix) But their worried parents, Maureen and John (Molly Parker and Toby Stephens), “don’t know if their kids are safe and the kids don’t know if their parents survived the attack,” says executive producer Zack Estrin. While the elder Robinsons desperately try to reunite the family, Estrin says lingering questions will be answered on these final episodes: “Where did the Robots come from? And if the Robots are indeed built, who built them?...

The Robinson family is getting one last go-around: Netflix has renewed its visually impressive “Lost in Space,” sci-fi series for a third and final season.
The series, a reimagining of the 1960 series of the same name that also ran for three seasons, centers on the tight-knit and inexhaustibly inventive Robinson family, who set off for the Alpha Centauri star system with a handful of other colonists after Earth threatened to become inhospitable in the distant future. Unfortunately, the Robinsons have faced obstacle after obstacle over the last two seasons, the latest of which ended with the children getting separated from their parents in a far-flung star system. Now, the Robinsons have one last chance (and season) to reunite and finally make their way to Alpha Centauri.

Lost in Space has been renewed by Netflix for a third season, in which The Robinson Family’s epic space journey towards Alpha Centauri will conclude.
While the series is coming to a close, Netflix and Lost in Space Executive Producer/ showrunner Zack Estrin have agreed to enter a multi-year overall deal to produce new series exclusively at Netflix.
It also sounds like the decision to end the series was all Estrin.
Estrin says, “From the beginning, we've always viewed this particular story of The Robinsons as a trilogy."
"A three part epic family adventure with a clear beginning, middle and end. It's also worth noting that, with what these characters go through just trying to survive each episode — if anyone deserves to catch their breath before their next mission -- it’s Will, Penny, Judy, Maureen, John, Don West, Dr. Smith... and The Robot."
"And, of course, Debbie the Chicken.

It’s also worth noting that, with what these characters go through just trying to survive each episode — if anyone deserves to catch their breath before their next mission — it’s Will, Penny, Judy, Maureen, John, Don West, Dr. Smith… and The Robot.
The news comes under three months since the launch of Season 2, which debuted on Dec. 24. Season 3 of “Lost in Space” is expected to debut in 2021, with the show having launched originally in April 2018.
“From the beginning, we’ve always viewed this particular story of The Robinsons as a trilogy,” Estrin said. “A three part epic family adventure with a clear beginning, middle and end. It’s also worth noting that, with what these characters go through just trying to survive each episode — if anyone deserves to catch their breath before their next mission — it’s Will, Penny, Judy, Maureen, John, Don West, Dr. Smith… and The Robot.

It’s that special time of year again when studios and networks put forth their Emmy-hopeful series and talent.
With more than 500 scripted shows alone vying for Television Academy Fyc event slots, some opt to build out their own spaces and present activations and stunts to capture additional voters’ attention. (Remember “‘Maisel’ Day”?) But for many, the traditional screening and panel setup is just as important. There, hundreds of voters can sample a show and engage with those who create it, all in a comfortable theater setting with food and drink to follow.
To keep track of all of the official Fyc events happening on both coasts, Variety has created this comprehensive schedule. Check back here periodically, as more events are still to be announced.

Our genre television podcast hosts review Lost in Space season 2, analyzing what works best in the family sci-fi adventure on Netflix.
There’s no denying that Lost in Space is an edge-of-your-seat space adventure for the whole family, and much of the audience enjoyment comes from seeing how the Robinson family will escape from their latest life-or-death situation. On this week’s Sci Fi Fidelity podcast, we talk about the importance of viewing this series through the right lens, checking any nitpicks about scientific accuracy at the door and just enjoying the ride.
Some changes were made in Lost in Space season 2 from the first outing, and we give specific praise to the rounding out of the Dr. Smith character and some background context for Judy’s parentage. We note that, because the show still focuses on a larger colony rather than the smaller group that the original series featured,...

Lost in Space returns to Netflix just in time for the holiday season on December 24, and that's no coincidence.
The second season of the Robinson family's adventure in outer space is even more focused on togetherness and the meaning of family than ever before.
Each daring escapade that comes their way reinforces that they're stronger together than they would ever be apart.
It's no wonder that so many people they meet along the way want to stand with them. The Robinsons are an inspiration to others to be better.
Nothing about Lost In Space is divisive, and no venture is too frightening that the entire family cannot enjoy.
The Robinsons represent the best in all of us, even when we're not at our best.
Because yes, the family faces challenges within their relationship as often as they do from outside, even alien forces.
What makes the show work and such...

The Robinson family is on another adventure in Netflix's season two trailer for Lost in Space. Without their beloved robot, the five-strong clan is stranded on an ocean planet and forced to fight against creepy monsters who - and I'm just guessing here - aren't looking to simply chat out their grievances. "That robot is the key to everyone's survival," the sketchy Dr. Smith (Parker Posey) declares. Watch the trailer above before the intergalactic squad embarks on a new mission when the second installment drops on Dec. 24!

However, an alien robot breaches the Resolute's hull, meaning that many people are sent to a nearby habitable planet, where they must find a way to return home, while simultaneously dealing with their own personal issues.
