Family Reunion is coming to an end.
Netflix on Monday handed out a renewal for a third and final season of the multicamera comedy.
This also marks the lowest episode order for the series, down from 20 and 15 episodes in seasons one and two, respectively.
Series creator Meg DeLoatch had handed over the showrunning duties to Adrienne Carter (Everybody Hates Chris) and Arthur Harris (Living Single).
DeLoatch will still have a creative involvement, but she will not be running the show on a day-to-day basis for the final episodes.
DeLoatch was named the showrunner of the CBS comedy series The Neighborhood, complicating a return to Family Reunion full-time.
“I am so excited that Family Reunion will be returning for a third season,” said DeLoatch in a statement.

Netflix renewed family sitcom “Family Reunion” for a 10-episode third and final season.
The series follows the McKellan family who moved from Seattle to Georgia in the series premiere to be closer to extended family. Now there are three generations living in the same house, and house is stuffed full of people. During the first two seasons, which were split into two parts each, the characters had to adjust to their new lifestyle, which included three-hour church services and “huge humidity hair,” as the network puts it. As complicated as things could be, there has been a lot of family bonding and learning and growing along the way, as well, and the final season should continue that pattern.

Family Reunion creator/executive producer Meg DeLoatch has joined CBS’ The Neighborhood as executive producer and showrunner for the upcoming fourth season. She replaces series creator/executive producer/showrunner Jim Reynolds, who exited the popular CBS/CBS Studios multi-camera comedy series, headlined by Cedric the Entertainer and Max Greenfield, at the end of Season 3.
DeLoatch is already putting her stamp on the show with a new writing team; I hear she has released all but one of The Neighborhood‘s Season 3 writers.
Comedy veteran DeLoatch most recently created and executive produces the Netflix multi-camera sitcom Family Reunion, for which she has received two NAACP Image Awards in 2020 and 2021 and a 2020 WGA Award nomination. DeLoatch assembled one of the first all-Black writers’ rooms to authentically voice the multi-generational family in the Netflix comedy series, whose cast includes Tia Mowry-Hardrict, Anthony Alabi and Emmy winner Loretta Devine. Richard Roundtree guest stars as Grandpa.

The Gallaghers are getting some new friends during Shameless Season 10!
Deadline is reporting that Rachel Dratch and Anthony Alabi have been added to the cast in recurring roles.
Dratch is on board as Paula, Ian's parole officer, and we think it's fair to say that she's going to do him more harm than good.
The description for the character teases that she uses "her power over him and her other parolees to run an elaborate insurance scam."
Ian made his way to prison early on Shameless Season 9 and based on this casting; it sure sounds like there's a chance he could make his way back to the South Side.

Jamie Dornan‘s next role is killer: The Once Upon a Time alum will headline the limited series Dr. Death, based on the 2018 Wondery podcast, our sister site Deadline reports.
The project — which is being shopped by Universal Content Productions to networks and streaming platforms — tells the true story of Dallas neurosurgeon Dr. Christopher Duntsch (Dornan).
