Koji Yahagi is a creative director/producer that has taken leadership
in a number of narrative films and commercial productions. He was born
in Osaka, Japan and spent his youth and college in the United States,
Italy, and Japan. He studied film by watching works of great filmmakers
such as Ozu, Mizoguchi, and John Ford. He has written and directed 12
short films. His films have concentrated on the drama surrounding the
maturing process of youth. Films such as "Youthless" and "Moon Pulled
Water" delicately portray internal conflicts of adolescents. His latest
film "Dandelion" is also a subtle and mysterious piece that depicts a
young boy's deeper internal conflict between romantic love and family
love. Koji Yahagi is scripting his first feature film based on Raymond
Carver's "Why Don't You Dance?" which investigates a story about a
young man who realizes that becoming an adult is very much about
accepting the loneliness that accompanies it.
