- Philip Shaw, is an Award Winning writer/director. He recently completed a small film Musketeer starring the wonderful Kevin McNally (Pirates of the Caribbean). The film was well received, winning Kevin Mc Nally two best Actor awards. The film also won two Best Cinematography Awards, as well as Nominated for Best Short Film at MIFF. Philip was born in Buckinghamshire. He Graduated from Amersham College of Arts as an Illustrator. After a successful career in design, print & advertising working with bluechip Brands including: Burberry, Sotheby's, C&W as well as international Charities, Philip based himself at Pinewood Film studios. He was approached by the legendary Hollywood Producer Elliott Kastner (73 features, incl: Where Eagles Dare) which led to a friendship lasting till Elliott's death in 2010. Elliott encouraged Philip along with his assistant Jim Deyarmin in his writing and directing. (Elliott had given William Goldman his first script gig) A series of successful shorts, commercial/promos and TV work followed including "After War" a film about Child soldiers. It was a huge success for the Commonwealth, raising over $100 Million.
Philip has worked with a whole range of wonderful actors and celebrities from Gareth David-Lloyd (Torchwood), Greg Rutherford, Devon Harris, John Regis, Lauryn Williams to Duke McKenzie and a wonderful team at MIND producing 6 films for them. - Dave Legeno and Philip grew up in the same street. Dave ended up living next door to Philips parents for 15 years before his tragic death.
- Philip wrote the feature screenplay 'Thin Rain' which John McTiernan was attached to direct. It would have been McT's first picture since 2003.
