The 32nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards is bringing together the cast of “Glee” for the tenth anniversary of character Santana Lopez (portrayed by the late Naya Rivera) coming out as lesbian.

While on air, the series was nominated six times for outstanding comedy series, which it won in 2010 and 2011. As confirmation of Naya Rivera’s death spread, her former costars and friends took to Twitter to honor the late actress. She was 33.
Rivera died while on an excursion with her 4-year-old son at Lake Piru in Ventura County, Calif. last Wednesday. Other visitors had noticed the young boy, Josey, alone in the boat and notified the authorities.
Josey was recovered unharmed. According to Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Eric Buschow, Josey said he and Rivera went swimming together but he got back in the boat and his mother didn’t. The search for Rivera lasted for five days, with specialist divers and sonar equipment brought in. Authorities confirmed to TheWrap her body was recovered Monday. Ryan Murphy's first splashy project for Netflix is shaping up. On Friday, Netflix shared the first poster for the series as well as the release date, and there's surprisingly a lot to unpack before it debuts on Sept. 27.
In the streaming platform's official synopsis for the dark comedy, Dear Evan Hansen's Ben Platt plays wealthy Santa Barbara-based student Payton Hobart, who has "known since age seven that he's going to be President of the United States. But first he'll have to navigate the most treacherous political landscape of all: Saint Sebastian High School." In an effort to get "elected Student Body President, secure a spot at Harvard, and stay on his singular path to success," Payton will go toe to toe with ruthless classmates who we imagine will put Rachel Berry to shame.

For her pending nuptials, Lea Michele is getting a little help from her friends and fami-glee. (I'm . . . so sorry.) In a recent interview with Brides, the actress and singer revealed she's already asked her Glee and Scream Queens boss Ryan Murphy to officiate her forthcoming wedding to her longtime friend-turned-fiancé Zandy Reich.
Following her engagement nearly a year ago, Lea shared a picture with her close friend Jonathan Groff with the caption, "Maid of honor." Though the actor is primarily known for his Broadway background with roles in Spring Awakening and Hamilton, he too was in Glee as Jesse St. James, Rachel Berry's rival and eventual husband.
Oh, but that's not all: Lea said Darren Criss, who portrayed Blaine Anderson, will also be in attendance, as well as Becca Tobin, who portrayed Kitty Wilde on the beloved six-season series. Lea and Darren actually went on tour together last year,...

Scream Queens Season 2 Episode 6 confirmed what we'd all expected – that the murder mystery at the heart of Scream Queen Season 2 is an almost-exact mirror of Scream Queens Season 1's Red Devil set-up.

There was a lot of fun campiness to enjoy on "Blood Drive." For starters, we learned a lot more about Nurse Hoffel, and it finally put her seemingly-irrational hatred of the Chanels into perspective.
Nurse Ingrid Marie Hoffel is actually Ingrid Marie Bean – the late Agatha Bean's sister! Twist.
Hoffel was my first husband's name. Howard Hoffel. He died. Cancer, I think -- we weren't close. My maiden name might sound familiar -- Bean. Agatha Bean was my sister. Agatha wasn't smart. I...

Sometimes, a long-running show gets a little stale.
Hey, it happens – particularly when a series is at 20+ episodes per season, as was the norm on television for quite a while. That's a Lot of filler episodes. And when staleness Does happen, there are several ways that showrunners can attempt to inject new life into it. One of those methods is a smartly-used time jump.
A "time jump" in this sense is any significant stretch of time that passes, between seasons or episodes. Usually, within a jump, there has been a notable event (or events) that change the course of the series or set off a new plot. When used correctly, they can make the introduction of new characters more seamless or skip over a chunk of time that may be difficult (or boring) to show onscreen.
Take, for example, "The College Years" in any series that began in high school.

Lea Michele graces the cover of Women's Health UK's annual Naked Issue, and it goes without saying that the Scream Queens star looks incredible. Lea posed totally nude for the stunning shots and showed off her many tiny tattoos in the process, one of them the word "Finn" written on her butt in tribute to her late boyfriend Cory Monteith's Glee character, Finn Hudson (for the record, Lea's Glee character, Rachel Berry, also got a Finn tattoo during the show's fifth season, but it was on her upper torso). For the sexy shoot, Lea's only request was to have "music that makes you want to have sex" playing loudly. The singer and actress wasn't ashamed to take it all off for the cameras. "[Being naked] isn't really an issue for me," she said, unashamedly looking at herself on screen and adding, "That body's banging." She mused about her healthy lifestyle -...

Lea Michele is baring it all for Women's Health U.K.'s naked issue, and while her completely nude body is enough to raise eyebrows, there's one little thing that seems to overshadow all of that. The Glee star showed off her enviable figure on the cover of the mag's latest issue, which will hit newsstands Aug. 3, and while posing in her birthday suit, you can see her various small and dainty tattoos all over her body—but what is that one near her bum? Yep, it seems like that "Finn" tattoo Rachel Berry got on the hit Fox show became real, and the feelings are almost too much to control. Fans may remember the episode in season five when Lea Michele's character got the "Finn" ink...

Lea Michele has amassed quite the collection of tiny tattoos, with everything from musical notes from Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" on her shoulder to a gold star on her wrist as a subtle nod to her years playing the role of Glee's Hbic, Rachel Berry. The Scream Queens actress added a few more on Monday night when she comissioned NYC's Prospect Tattoos to give her two sweet representations of her late grandmother and her late boyfriend, Glee costar Cory Monteith. "I lost my beautiful grandma this week . . . She wasn't your typical grandma," Lea captioned an Instagram photo showing off the itty-bitty coffee cup she got inked on the inside of her finger. "She gave me my first cup of coffee when I was 8 years old. She said something inappropriate to every boyfriend I've ever had. She never made pie or knit me a sweater. But she was my grandma...

Amber Riley, who has been preparing for this role ever since the first season of Glee, will soon play Effie White in Dreamgirls. Riley, who recently appeared as Addaperle in The Wiz Live!, will take the stage at the Savoy Theatre in the 1981 musical's November revival. White, an analogue for Florence Ballard, the ousted original member of the Supremes, gets the iconic torch song "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going," which definitely helped Jennifer Hudson earn her Oscar when she played the role in 2006's film adaptation. Glee took full advantage of Riley's pipes — and the fact that her character was constantly passed over for the more conventional star Rachel Berry — to have her sing several of Effie's songs on the show. So you might say Riley's pretty well prepared.

Gleeks and Lea Michele fans everywhere…buckle up. Tonight's Scream Queens episode, "Chanel-o-Ween," is not for the faint of heart, and based on our wholly scientific experiment, you will burn roughly 90,000 calories laughing until you cry, and shrieking in terror. The episode, which is the first of three Halloween episode, is both hilarious and shocking (as evidenced by this Taylor Swift-inspired open!), and Lea's Hester character, now going by "Chanel Number Six," will say and do things her TV alter ego Rachel Berry wouldn't dream of. It's all just so...dirrrrrtyyyyy. And wrong. And hilarious. And proof that Scream Queens creator Ryan Murphy is a genius when it comes to taking...

Your favorite TV stars are going to look a lot different this fall. One of the biggest themes of the upcoming TV season? Transformation, as a lot of actors were asked to completely change their looks for their roles on some of the fall's hottest—from a bunch of Fargo's new stars putting on some weight (and facial hair) to Max Greenfield dropping over 30 pounds (Holy Schmidt!) in order to play a drug addict on American Horror Story: Hotel. Plus, Lea Michele is saying goodbye to Rachel Berry and hello to a neck brace on Scream Queens, while her former Glee co-star Harry Shum Jr. is taking on a seriously glittery new role on ABC Family's Shadowhunters. Glee lost me when it veered further and further away from its core concepts and refused to take its eyes off their initial stars and their forays into a magical version of New York City. I avoided the final season and from the recaps, it appears to have gone into gonzo land with little effort to ground the show in any sense of reality. As a result, I knew I wasn’t the one to fairly review the final season so I turned to a true Gleek, one of my Creative Writing students, and here’s what she had to say.

And that’s all she wrote! The two-hour series finale of Glee aired last night, ending a six-year run of boundary-pushing story lines and characters. While the popular Fox show has definitely decreased in quality in its later seasons, it looks like Ryan Murphy finally listened to fans and delivered a flaw-free final act. Rachel won. Kurt won. Hell, everyone won. And that’s exactly the kind of sunshine fantasy fans needed to feel satisfied.
The finale was divided into two acts: “2009,” which took audiences back to — you guessed it — 2009, and “Dreams Come True,” which took us five years into the future. (Where Sue Sylvester is Vice President of the United States. Really.) In order to emotionally process all of last night’s feels, we’ve broken down the highlights from each episode. Grab a tissue; we promise you’ll need it.

Will (Matt Morrison) appears to be singing Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young's "Teach Your Children" to a room full of strangers and friends alike, including his current students and a few alumni including Tina, Artie, Sam, Blaine, and Kurt, but it's clear that the song is really aimed at one person in particular, and that person is Rachel Berry. Tonight we will be saying good-bye to the New Directions and the rest of the students of McKinley High School. Glee has made us laugh and cry for six seasons, but it had to end sometime. Over the years, we have met many different characters. Some of them are very memorable like Lea Michele’s Rachel Berry, who has been the centerpiece of Glee since it began airing back in 2009. Other cast members who have been around all six seasons include Chris Colfer as Kurt Hummel, Jane Lynch as Sue Sylvester, and Matthew Morrison as Will Schuster. Each season of Glee has also featured some less memorable characters. Over the last couple of weeks, we at TVOvermind have taken a look back at those lesser known characters. Last week, we discussed Season 2. If you have not yet checked out the article yet, it can be viewed by clicking here. This week,...
