Conducted the premiere performance of
Manuel de Falla's ballet "El Sombrero de Tres Picos" (The Three-Cornered Hat) in 1919. Many years later, he recorded the work in stereo. It is one of the few instances of a famous early twentieth-century classical piece of music having been recorded by the man who conducted its original performance.
