Netflix has been on a roll today with releasing trailers for their upcoming projects. Earlier the streaming service realized the official trailer for their remake of Lost in Space – now they have released a teaser for season two of Marvel’s Luke Cage which also reveals the premiere date.

After clearing his name, Luke Cage has become a celebrity on the streets of Harlem with a reputation as bulletproof as his skin. But being so visible has only increased his need to protect the community and find the limits of who he can and can’t save. With the rise of a formidable new foe, Luke is forced to confront the fine line that separates a hero from a villain.

There’s more than meets the eye to Netflix’s timely and thought-provoking Marvel series “Luke Cage,” which recently debuted to much fanfare, critical acclaim and maybe even temporary service outage.
Whether you’re one of the dedicated who have already binged all 13 episodes or are slowly savoring each installment, there’s plenty happening on the screen beyond the main action. Some of it may be obvious, such as when a street hawker in the first episode (selling DVDs of The Incident in “The Avengers”) refers to Tony Stark, “the blonde dude with the hammer, the old dude with the shield, the green monster and I don’t mean Fenway.”

Many of the references may not be so blatant though or of the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it variety. Here’s a breakdown of just some of the fun references made that we caught on the first pass.

Keith Miller has been crafting shorts, documentaries, and features since 2005 (including last year's "Welcome to Pine Hill" with Jaiden Kaine). Exploring gang life, urbanity, and manhood, Miller brings "Five Star" to Tribeca, the story of a gang leader's relationship to a young man caught at a crossroad. Tell us about yourself: I began my creative work as a painter, which I still feel integral to my thinking. Over the course of that practice, my work got more narrative and I began to edit video and start to think about film. As I developed my film-making practice, over the past 7 or 8 years, I saw the potential to push the narrative work to a more active engagement with social and personal issues. This goal is one of the central things that lead me to Five Star. I have always been interested in the 19th century ideas around Realism and the challenge of...

However, I was pleasantly surprised with Chiller’s original film Dead Souls (2012) based on the novel of the same name by Michael Laimo.
I’ll even go so far as to say that I had higher-than-usual expectations for this one and was pleased to see those expectations met. You see, I know Michael and while hanging out at the Horrorfind Convention this past September I got to talk to him a bit about the movie. Recently Dread Central was lucky enough to travel to the quiet town of Canterbury, Connecticut, to visit the set of the upcoming Chiller original production Dead Souls. The film, scheduled to hit the television airwaves in October, was directed by Colin Theys and boasts the one and only Bill Moseley amongst the impressive cast.
Upon arriving at the set, one thing was abundantly clear: The production team that sought to find a location to be used as a haunted house was incredibly effective. The abandoned farmhouse used in Dead Souls was incredibly creepy. Add to that the fact that a scraggly bearded Bill Moseley was sitting on a rock outside the barn as you walked up the driveway, and the creep factor of this place goes through the roof!
Moseley spoke on working with the Dead Souls cast and crew. "They really know their stuff," Moseley said. "I think Colin [Theys] is a really cool director.
