Freeform's scripted roster just took a hit.
The cable network has canceled Single Drunk Female and The Watchful Eye, according to Deadline.
Even worse: all episodes of both series are being removed from Hulu today, meaning that they'll only be available to purchase via iTunes and Amazon.
Single Drunk Female Season 1 was a massive hit for Freeform and Hulu, where it garnered strong viewership on streaming, but the buzz seemingly faded by the time Single Drunk Female Season 2 debuted earlier this year.
The second season launched in April and picked up with Sam a year and a half into her sobriety journey and finally feeling "like she has a life worth celebrating," the logline states.
"However, Sam quickly learns that sometimes life has other plans for her."
"Sam must figure out how to effect change where she can, sit in her discomfort when she can't, and maybe even enjoy the ride.

“The Watchful Eye” plunges viewers into the depths of a haunted Manhattan apartment building as live-in nanny Elena (Mariel Molino) seeks a hidden treasure unbeknownst to the wealthy widower (Warren Christie) who employs her.
For the pacing of the reveals concerning both Elena and The Greybourne and its residents, showrunner Emily Fox says she drew from “The White Lotus” and “Mare of Easttown” for the Freeform thriller’s “slow burn” mystery.
“You always have to figure out how many cards to turn over in each episode to make it intriguing enough that people will want to come back and find out the answer, but not make it so complicated,” Fox told TheWrap. “We took a lot of inspiration from shows like ‘The White Lotus’ and ‘Mare of Easttown’ and some of these other slow burn mysteries where a lot happens that doesn’t necessarily solve your big mystery, but which takes interest you closer,...

Coming from a background in Spanish physical comedy, Mariel Molino, who plays a nanny with a sinister secret in Freeform’s new Hitchcockian thriller series “The Watchful Eye,” faced a “learning curve” while filming ominous scenes as she transformed big movements into small specifics full of nuance and imagination.
“Everything that you think you might have to play up, actually, you have to be a lot more small about and you have to be more specific and nuanced,” Molino told TheWrap. “I really learned to trust my instinct and my imagination … and use the camera as my co-star because a lot of the scenes were me alone and me reacting to a sound that wasn’t there, or a person that is not there.”

Jon Ecker is heating up Queen of the South with his role as Guero, but the actor has a great storyline on and off the camera. The 34-year-old star is all too familiar with TV sets given that his father is Guy Ecker, one of the biggest Spanish-Telenovela actors. "I think the most important thing that I learned from him wasn't about how to act, but how to stay sane being an actor. It has a lot of ups and downs and is filled with rejection. So I think from him I learned how to hang it all up at the door when I come home and how to separate my personal life and any feelings of contentment from whatever may be going on in my professional life whether it be good or bad," the...

What did you think of the premiere of USA's latest series, Queen of the South?
While at the Atx Festsival in Austin, I had the chance to sit down with the cast of Queen of the South to talk about the premiere and what to expect as the series moves forward.
They were quite interested to share their thoughts on this fast paced and engrossing character-driven drama.
I was surprised to learn that most, if not all, of the cast had read the book by Arturo Pérez-Reverte and/or watched the Telemundo version of the show. That was how they first encountered the characters they have grown to love.
There have been some changes for the USA version of the series, but not when it comes to their love of the characters and the story. Alice Braga, who plays the central character Teresa Mendoza, shared her thoughts on her character.

One episode was provided prior to broadcast.
“I’ve been poor and I’ve been rich,” Teresa Mendoza, the eponymous queen of USA’s new drama Queen of the South, says in the opening shot of the show. As she does a line of coke, after emerging from her private helicopter and into her posh mansion, she admits pretty much what you expect she will post-Breaking Bad: “Rich is better.” It’s also deadlier (you probably expected that, too). Out of nowhere, a bullet breaks the window of her not-private-at-all private bathroom, she gets hit in the gut, and divulges – via voiceover – that a little backstory might be helpful.
As such, much of Queen of the South is Teresa’s (Alice Braga) pre-“Queenpin” days, wherein we see her snuggling up to a cute Texan drug smuggler, becoming gal pals with a wife of a cartel member, and...
