George Harrison earned a few nicknames with The Beatles. The quiet one, the shy one, the third Beatle, and the most easy-going Beatle. Whatever name people called him, at least one thing was true — he was a talented songwriter who was overshadowed by his older songwriting bandmates. That didn’t prevent George from being honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on April 14, 2009, a second prestigious posthumous honor for one of Liverpool’s most famous sons.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame welcomed George on April 14, 2009, and it was well-deserved. After all, he played a large part in crafting music that changed the world.

Bill Cosby had his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame defaced again with the words “serial rapist.”
Multiple outlets, including CNN, reported that the words were scrawled onto his star on Monday night. Cosby’s star was previously vandalized in 2014, when the word “rapist” was written across it multiple times.

The City of West Hollywood is advocating for the removal of Donald Trump’s star from the Hollywood Walk of Fame — the authorized removal, that is.
West Hollywood’s city council voted on Monday in favor of eliminating the president’s star from the popular tourist destination. The decision was unanimous, on the grounds that Trump has made transgressions toward minorities — particularly women and immigrants.
Trump’s star has been on the famous street since 2007, when Trump was honored for his work on Miss Universe pageants and NBC’s long-running business competition show “The Apprentice.” The star recently suffered a major blow when a vandal destroyed it with a pickaxe. The city council referenced the attack as further grounds for removal.
“Starting with the 2016 presidential election, a number of disturbing instances concerning Mr. Trump’s treatment of women came to light,” the statement reads. “Similar to how certain members of...

Mark Hamill thinks it’s about time Carrie Fisher gets her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The man behind Luke Skywalker reacted to the recent news that Trump’s star is being petitioned for removal by offering up the suggestion that Trump be kicked off the Walk of Fame and Fisher added in his place. Surprisingly, Fisher never earned a star during her nearly 50 years in Hollywood.
“How about replacing it with someone who really earned it?” Hamill asked to his 2.88 million Twitter followers. “Like Carrie Fisher.”
The West Hollywood City Council met on August 6 and unanimously voted to remove Trump’s star. The group will now send a formal letter to Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, the Los Angeles City Council, and the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce urging all bodies to consider removing the star. Unfortunately, Chamber of Commerce CEO and president Leron Gubler responded by saying...

Oh no! President Donald Trump's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame has been destroyed... again. Police say a man destroyed the monument to pieces with a pickax the morning of Wednesday, July 25, according to The Blast. "Multiple people — including police— tell me a man walked up with a guitar case and pulled out the pickaxe. Then, it’s believed, he called police himself to report it but left the scene before they got here. Now, he’s nowhere to be found," said NBC reporter Jonathan Gonzalez. (Photo Credit: Getty Images) It's also been reported by TMZ that the man has turned himself in to the Lapd following the incident. One witness, Patricia Cox, told Kcal/Kcbs, "I just seen a guy going to town on, I guess, the ground or whatever, she said. "I didn’t know what was going on." The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce also released a...

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce presented Vanessa Williams with this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award Thursday at the Sheraton Universal Hotel in Universal City, Calif.
The event, co-sponsored by Variety and the Hollywood Museum in the Historic Max Factor Building, honored Williams and unveiled her portrait to mark the occasion. Leron Gubler, president and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, explained that the luncheon was created in 2000 to “recognize celebrities who’ve made a difference in Hollywood.” Steve Allen, the original host of “The Tonight Show,” was the first to be honored at the event.
“I ended up doing musical theater in high school and some theater in college and Broadway was the tangible goal for me,” Williams said as she accepted her award. “Hollywood was never on the radar because it was one of those things that was unattainable.”
