With comedy drama 50/50 out in UK cinemas this Friday, Chris explains why the talents of actor and writer Seth Rogen deserves a bit more appreciation...
Does anyone remember Paul Feig’s sensational but sadly short-lived television show Freaks And Geeks from 1999? I thought not. In fact, it’s amazing just how few people in the UK have heard of the show, produced by Judd Apatow, which brought us such talent as James Franco, Jason Segel and the comedian at the centre of this article, Seth Rogen.
Since his humble days in Vancouver, Rogen has become one of the most recognisable and prolific faces in American comedy, starring in an abundance of features as well as writing and producing. He is renowned for his unusual laugh, often crass and blue humour, and joins Jay and Silent Bob and Cheech and Chong as a loveable stoner. Yet still so many people dislike...

One of the big mysteries surrounding Judd Apatow's Knocked Up spinoff(besides the actual title) had to do with Ben Stone, Seth Rogen's character who was the centerpiece of the original film. This story takes place a few years later and focuses on Pete and Debbie, the troubled married couple played by Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann. So far a sweet cast has been gathered, including Albert Brooks, Megan...

After a shaky start, The Nine Lives of Chloe King delivered fun and daring stories to viewers, along with one of the most passionately debated love triangles on television. The season as a whole earned a solid B, but I'd bump that grade up if we could just focus on the final few installments.
Let's take a look back at the new show, highlighting the best (and worst) of season one...
Best Character: I’m going to take some heat for this one, but... Paul. His consistency in being funny and “there” for everyone is a gift we should all possess. Plus, Ki Hong Lee has amazing line delivery and can deadpan even the goofiest of moments.
Best Episode: Without a doubt, “Beautiful Day.” The finale offered so much for viewers to chew on, and did so without a net. We may never know what happens, and with so much hanging in the balance,...

Former Guiding Light star Ron Raines writes about playing "Follies'" Ben Stone and Singing beside Bernadette Peters. Y&R's Judith Chapman wins rave reviews for her portrayal of Vivien Leigh. Matthew Ashford talks about Days return with Sacramento's Kcra. ReelzChannel will air the Primetime Emmys Creative Arts Awards. Harvey Fierstein guest starring on The Good Wife as a judge. Are end dates actually good for TV shows? Are showrunner tweeters a good thing?
Ron Raines on Being "Follies'" Ben Stone and Singing Beside Bernadette Peters
"One of the challenges for me right now is doing eight shows a week. Stephen Sondheim is a composer and lyricist whose work demands that you show up at each performance. I have to be at the top of my form because there are so many emotional changes that Ben goes through during each performance. Of course, working with Bernadette Peters, Jan Maxwell and Danny Burstein...

Michael Moriarty, who starred in such classic films as Who’ll Stop the Rain and Pale Rider, exiled himself to Canada in 1995, following a nasty confrontation with U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno in a Washington, D.C. hotel room. Moriarty was invited along with network television executives and producers to hear Reno’s views on censorship of TV violence. Law and Order, one of the least violent shows on television, was cited as a major offender. Incensed by Reno's campaign to “forcibly end violence on television and trample on rights of free expression as guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution,” Moriarty quit the series and left the U.S. in protest. He has been a landed immigrant in Canada ever since. Why the fateful encounter with Reno led to a radical (and seemingly overnight) transformation of Moriarty’s...

As Bridesmaids arrives in UK this week, Glen looks at the finest songs in its producer Judd Apatow's other hit comedies...
Judd Apatow is a dominant force in the world of movie comedies, with his work as producer and director seeing great successes over the course of his career. With the upcoming UK release of Bridesmaids, which is produced by Apatow, I thought now would be an ideal time to look at some of my favourite musical moments from the films he's been involved with.
Step Brothers: Boats ‘N Hoes
Huff 'N Doback /Prestige Worldwide (written by Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly)
This isn’t the first time that either Step Brothers or Ferrell and Reilly will be appearing in this list. It’s a film that I have a lot of love for, and one of the few to leave me unable to breathe for laughing...

Skyler Samuels most recently starred on the ABC series The Gates, opposite Rhona Mitra and Colton Haynes. She also appeared in the films The Stepfather (with Penn Badgley, Sela Ward, and Dylan Walsh) and Furry Vengeance (with Brendan Fraser). Other notable roles include guest-starring turns on Drake And Josh, The Suite Life With Zack And Cody, That's So Raven and Wizards Of Waverly Place.
Samuels is a full time high school student in Los Angeles where she resides with her family. In her spare time, she is an avid photographer, enjoys Pilates, traveling (with an affinity for France where she gets a chance to utilize her linguistic skills) and spending time with family and friends.
On the new ABC Family soap The Nine Live Of Chloe King (premiering tomorrow, Tuesday June 14 at 9/8c), Samuels stars as Chloe -- a pretty, smart, slightly off beat teenage girl with a serious independent streak.

Now that America has fallen in love with Irish comedian Chris O’Dowd from the sleeper hit Bridesmaids, producer Judd Apatow has hired the actor for This is Forty, a spin-off of Apatow’s own Knocked Up.
Plot details have been kept under wraps, but Paul Rudd and Apatow’s wife, Leslie Mann, will be reprising their roles as married couple Pete and Debbie. O’Dowd, formerly of the UK series “The It Crowd,” and Apatow protege Lena Dunham will play employees at Pete’s record company. Albert Brooks was previously cast as Pete’s father and Megan Fox was surprisingly cast last month in an unknown role.
Charlyne Yi will return as Jodi, one of Ben Stone (Seth Rogen)’s stoner friends from the original, and Wyatt Russell will be a hockey player, reports Variety.
No word on whether Rogen, Jason Segel, Jay Baruchel, or others from Knocked Up will return.

Yes, just typing that headline made me want to build a time machine out of a DeLorean and shave a decade or so off my own age. But I also feel hopeful, because Michael J. Fox is as completely awesome and lovable today as when we first fell for him as Family Ties’ Alex P. Keaton — just check out his fantastic turns on The Good Wife, or Rescue Me, or later this summer on Curb Your Enthusiasm. Though it’s an extremely tough choice, my favorite Michael J. Fox role has always been Ben Stone in the not-on-cable-enough 1991 comedy Doc Hollywood.
