The stakes are always high in the alien-infested universe of Helldivers 2. As a cooperative, high-octane shooter, the game thrives on its ability to keep players on their toes with intense, fast-paced action. The thrill of battling alien hordes alongside teammates makes for an exhilarating gaming experience.
However, Helldivers 2 has faced criticism from players regarding various issues, such as Psn account problems and numerous glitches. One particular point of contention has been the so-called “dead bug” which can unexpectedly kill players. While these concerns are understandable, some of the complaints stem from misunderstandings. What many players perceive as bugs are actually intentional game mechanics designed to add challenge and realism to the game.

Chances are that even those uninitiated in the mind-boggling principles of quantum physics have heard of Schrödinger's Cat. In layman’s terms, the groundbreaking thought experiment demonstrated how tiny particles can exist in two states at once until they’re observed. If you put a cat in a box with something that could kill it, the cat is both dead and alive for as long as the box remains unopened.

Have you ever watched It’s a Wonderful Life and wished that Frank Capra had paused to show us Clarence the Angel explaining to George Bailey how he was able to present him with the experience of a world in which he was never born?
Chances are good you haven’t — that you appreciate that the surest way to ruin whimsy is to “But actually…” it.
But if you have, indeed, yearned for a version of It’s a Wonderful Life in which “magic” was replaced by a literal black box and “joy and sadness and general wonderment” by “dejection and self-seriousness and general washed-out solemnity,” Apple TV+’s adaptation of Blake Crouch’s Dark Matter may be in your wheelhouse. It’s a series that doesn’t lack for ingenuity and, especially in the last two hours, ideas pop up that border on inspired, but the lack of tonal variation ultimately dooms Dark Matter.

You know the old adage: you wait ages for an Apple sci-fi show about quantum superposition, and then two come along at once. Just a month after we unravelled the existential mysteries of Constellation, we now have another reality-bending rabbit hole to disappear down in this series by Blake Crouch, adapted from his 2016 novel. But where Constellation took a deliberate, almost meditative approach to blending parallel worlds, confuzzling audiences right up until its slow-burn reveal, Dark Matter is a more up-front affair, wearing its fluctuating quantum state proudly on its five-dimensional sleeve.
Edgerton’s Jason Dessen lives a simple but happy life with wife Daniela (Jennifer Connelly) and son Charlie (Oakes Fegley). Working as a college physics teacher, he’s professionally unfulfilled (though apparently still able to afford a stunning brownstone in downtown Chicago) and vastly overshadowed by former classmate Ryan (Jimmi Simpson). After a night out though,...

The anxiety of something as adrenaline-inducing as Russian Roulette lies in its unpredictable circumstances. It’s almost ironic how a game of pure luck can grow increasingly thrilling even though nothing is truly in your control. Except, in the case of Buckshot Roulette, luck is merely an illusion. The game’s immaculate design and choice of themes fool you into believing you’re in control, yet gives you ample choice over how things go.
In my time playing through the indie table-top horror game that originally came from itch.io, I found myself at the edge of my seat, breaking my head over every possible ‘right’ decision I could take for my character. This may seem like a paradox because, at the start Buckshot Roulette, a shotgun and a couple of rounds in it decide my fate before I can make sense of why I’m even doing this to myself.

Owing to series creator-star Larry David’s unique deal with HBO, Curb Your Enthusiasm never seemed like the sort of show that would formally conclude.
Since Curb premiered back in 2000, the official line on future seasons was always some variation on: “Curb will be back whenever Larry has a story he wants to tell.” That sometimes meant months; more recently, it meant six years during which no enthusiasm whatsoever was curbed. When HBO announced in December that Curb’s 12th season would be its last, it felt like a violation of the show’s eternal Schrödinger’s comedy status according to which, between seasons, Curb was always somehow both alive and dead, its future hinging on Larry David eventually finding something fresh to be irritated by (a prospect as likely as Dick Wolf locating undepicted professions in Chicago).
Perhaps the most surprising thing about the new Curb Your Enthusiasm season — which premiered Feb.

The seven-year-long soap opera about David Ayer and his ‘Suicide Squad’ movie just got a new episode. As we all remember, Ayer wrote and directed the first ‘Suicide Squad’ movie, which was released in 2016 as a part of the original plan for DC Extended Universe. Although the movie achieved great commercial success, it received negative reviews for its screenplay, direction, villains, and action sequences, although Margot Robbie received praise for her portrayal of Harley Quinn.
We all know what happened next after Joss Whedon, with the studio’s blessing, reshot the majority of ‘Justice League’ after Zack Snyder left the project. The butchered movie was released in theaters and turned out to be a box-office disappointment.
After almost four years of the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut campaign on social media, Zack Snyder released his 4-hour-long director’s cut in 2021, and that encouraged the fans to the #ReleaseTheAyerCut campaign since it was known the...

David Ayer isn’t done addressing the director’s cut of 2016 film “Suicide Squad.”
The director claimed during Jon Bernthal’s “Real Ones” podcast that early cuts of “Suicide Squad” led to rumors that he was in line to take over DC Studios at Warner Bros.
“During a time, during ‘Suicide Squad,’ when the dailies were coming in, people were like ‘Oh shit, maybe Ayer’s going to take over DC,'” Ayer said. “It’s ‘Game of Thrones’ in there. The palace politics were insane.”
James Gunn later helmed quasi-sequel “The Suicide Squad” and eventually became co-ceo of DC Studios, along with Peter Safran. Ayer noted that Gunn has been supportive of potentially making his “Suicide Squad” director’s cut available.
“They never tested my cut, and the thing is, I have it, I fucking have it, and if I didn’t, oh my God…” Ayer said. “Everyone I...

This article contains spoilers for "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem."
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem" is one of the best animated movies of the year: a film that reinvents and reinvigorates the franchise by focusing on the teenage part of "Tmnt," casting actual kids to voice the Turtles and having them record together to capture a sense of spontaneity.
"Mutant Mayhem" also has a most excellent soundtrack, filled with classic '90s hip hop and the kind of songs you'd hear while playing "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater." After "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" gave us some of the worst needle drops in cinema, it is a delight to see "Mutant Mayhem" use the songs that actually help the story and reflect the personalities of the Turtles and other characters.

I know you are, but what am I!
I know you are, but what am I?
Childlike rejoinder or existential inquiry?
In the case of Paul Reubens and Pee-wee Herman, his most indelible creation, the answer is an unambiguous, “Yes.”
Inclusive disjunctions of this sort are almost unavoidable when it comes to Reubens and Pee-wee.
Was Pee-wee Herman an overgrown, well-dressed child or a childish, enthusiastically regressive man?
Yes.
Was Pee-wee’s Big Adventure a comedy for adults or an absurdist fairy tale for children?
Yes.
Was Pee-wee’s Playhouse, the astonishingly avant-garde series built around the character and his outlandish and occasionally inanimate friends, a Saturday morning variety platform directed at kids or a satire on Saturday morning variety platforms directed at grownups?
Yes.
Reubens and Pee-wee Herman resolutely defied taxonomy. For over 40 years, viewers attempting to get a conclusive read on the character have found him to be...

Well, it certainly wasn’t the gang busters weekend we had anticipated, but Mission: Impossible- Dead Reckoning Part One was still able to pull off the best 5-day opening of the franchise with a little over $80 million, beating the 5-day take of 2000’s Mission: Impossible- 2’s $78.8 million when the average ticket price was $5.39 compared to 2023’s $10.45. However Dead Reckoning Part One’s 3-day take of $56.2 million will fall short of 2018’s Fallout record of $61.2 million.
So what does this all mean? Well, just a few weeks ago we gave the death knell to Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny for opening to such low numbers, that are actually better than what Dead Reckoning did. So why is this not a code red for the Tom Cruise fronted franchise? Well for starters, reviews for Mission: Impossible are far better than they were for Indy with a 96% Rotten Tomatoes score...

The central conflict of Hijack Episode 3 can be better explained through the concept of Schrödinger’s cat. In one of the scenes, Sam Nelson’s ex-wife, Marsha, explains that more than one possibility can be true. There is always a duality until we investigate for ourselves to find out the actual truth. In the third episode, we come across two such paradoxes. On the ground, the authorities in London are still trying to figure out whether Kingdom 2-9 is hijacked or not. While on the plane itself, Sam Nelson has come across a similar dilemma. He found that the bullets in the hijacker’s gun could be fake, and that changed everything. There are more passengers on the plane than the hijackers, and the latter can easily be defeated. But what’s stopping Sam and the other passengers: the confusion regarding the bullets. One wrong move and someone can lose their life.

Near the halfway point of The Delinquents, a funny, existential epic from Argentina, a banker dips into an arthouse cinema. Though almost all the seats are free he can’t decide which one to choose. What’s the point of all those options, the film asks, if you’re always left wanting more? In another moment the elder statesman of a prison yard explains that the only advantage a cellmate holds over those outside is having all the time in the world to think. (What’s the point of freedom itself if you’re a slave to the algorithm?) “There wasn’t more freedom,” another man explains, reminiscing about an objectively worse era in Argentinian history, “but you could smoke anywhere.”
One of the very best films from this year’s Un Certain Regard, The Delinquents, the seventh feature from Argentine director Rodrigo Moreno, is set in motion with a delicious bit of game theory.

This post contains spoilers for "Mrs. Davis," season 1, episode 5.
It took a few episodes for Peacock's "Mrs. Davis" to loop back around to where it started, but now we're back on the island with Dr. Arthur Schrödinger, and we finally know how his story connects to the quest for the holy grail.
A lot has happened since the "Mrs. Davis" series premiere, when our nun protagonist Simone (Betty Gilpin) came riding in on a horse to thwart the elaborate grifts of Reno magicians. Though he shares the name of a physicist famous for his thought experiment involving a cat, you could be forgiven for almost forgetting Schrödinger. However, for fans of "The Thin Red Line" and other assorted things, the face of Ben Chaplin, the actor playing Schrödinger, may look familiar, even if it's hidden behind a scraggly castaway beard much of the time.
Viewers actually met Schrödinger before Simone,...

What can I tell you about Mrs. Davis? I can tell you it’s about a nun, Simone (Betty Gilpin), and her rodeo cowboy ex, Wiley (Jake McDorman). I can tell you that the series pits them against a seemingly all-powerful algorithm that might vaguely be described as Siri meets ChatGPT, on steroids. I can tell you this battle somehow involves an angry whale, the Holy Grail and a literal Schrödinger’s cat.
Beyond that, I can’t tell you much, in part because the powers that be at Peacock have sworn critics to secrecy, but also because I fear that explaining the plot might make me sound unhinged. It’s that strange. And while I’m still not totally sure its biggest swings add up in the end, it is, if nothing else, a true original in a TV landscape littered with endlessly rebooted IP — and all the more entertaining for it.

Stop us if you’ve heard this one before: A cowboy, a nun, and her mother go on a quest to destroy the Holy Grail. Along the way, they encounter a secret society of militant lady bankers, Schrödinger’s cat, a sneaker-hoarding priest, and the Prime Minister of Spain. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

John Oliver took a few minutes out of Last Week Tonight to discuss a U.S. district judge’s recent ruling related to mifepristone, the most commonly used method of abortion.
Earlier this month, U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk, a Trump appointee, ordered a hold on federal approval of the drug in a decision that overruled decades of scientific approval. At the same time, U.S. District Judge Thomas O. Rice, an Obama appointee, essentially ordered the opposite and directed U.S. authorities not to make any changes that would restrict access to the drug in at least 17 states where Democrats sued in an effort to protect availability.
“Like every fight that you’ve had with your uncle since 2016, we’re gonna start with abortion — the thing that Republican men love to ban almost as much as they love to secretly pay for,” Oliver joked toward the beginning of his HBO talk show.

There's a whole lot of everything in "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania." Since last we saw them, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) have been busy taking care of their loved ones in a post-"Endgame" world. When she shows off her new invention, a grown up Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton) accidentally whisks the entire Ant-Family into the Quantum Realm: an infinite, microscopic world that bends the laws of time and space.
"Quantumania" serves as not just the start of Phase 5, but also an introduction to the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors) and the next major chapter in the Multiverse Saga. So naturally, like any other Marvel movie, of course there was a lot left on the cutting room table as plans and ambitions shift around. Recently, a set photo posted by a...

"Normal" and "creepy" are relative terms, especially when discussing the mysterious, spooky, and altogether ooky Addams Family. First introduced in the pages of The New Yorker in 1938, Charles Addams' series of macabre and hilarious single-panel cartoons became the foundation for one of America's most popular — and most enduring — fictional families. Television shows and movies, both live-action and animated, have featured the family's morbid antics since 1964, with a new Netflix series debuting later this year.
If there's anything the Addams Family teaches us, it's that "normal" is in the eye of the beholder and that looks can be deceiving. At the same time, part of the fun of the Addams Family is that they allow us to get in touch with our own darkness, our own weirdness, and celebrate the creepier side of life. While there are many extended family members in the Addams clan, this list will stick to the major players,...

Everyone is familiar with the concept of Schrödinger's cat, right? Is there a cat in the box, or not? Here's the formal definition: "In quantum mechanics, Schrödinger's cat is a thought experiment that illustrates a paradox of quantum superposition... a hypothetical cat may be considered simultaneously both alive and dead as a result of its fate being linked to a random subatomic event that may or may not occur." How can this apply to a horror script? Well, you have to watch and find out. Zalava is a horror film from Iran that completely rocked me at a midnight screening at the 2022 Karlovy Vary Film Festival. I am just catching up with it now after it first premiered at the 2021 Venice & Toronto Film Festivals last fall. Like so many other stories these days, the Jussie Smollett legal saga seemed governed not by coherent logic, but by chaos, and, in its absence of narrative, invites any observer to find in it the story they prefer hearing.
Smollett, the “Empire” star who had been in legal jeopardy due to allegations of staging a purported hate crime against himself before the charges against him were dropped on Tuesday, is, to the core fans who’ve stood by him throughout, an unjustly chosen target liberated at last from those who sought to cause him harm. Now that Thor: Ragnarok has given the god of thunder a popular rebranding, Chris Hemsworth’s first two Marvel solo efforts are feeling more and more like the product of another time for the McU. Nonetheless, a lengthy new theory on Reddit makes the case that 2013’s Thor: The Dark World foreshadowed some pretty huge developments in next year’s Avengers 4, and it all has to do with the seemingly mad ravings of one Erik Selvig.
