This is hardly the first time we’ve heard of a potential Swedish House Mafia reunion, but as more and more evidence mounts, it’s starting to look like it could become a reality.
Not long after Axwell gave us hope during an interview with Zane Lowe, we’re now seeing another hint of a potential return for the Edm supergroup, as they’ve just updated their cover photo on Facebook, changing it from the Leave the World Behind banner to their traditional logo.
Now, this could mean nothing, as the group as made intriguing uploads to their social media accounts in the past that never resulted in anything significant. That being said though, there certainly has been a lot of chatter about a reunion lately, with some people pointing to Ultra Miami as for where it will happen.
Of course, nothing has been confirmed and it’s all just speculation for now,...

Fatboy Slim has revealed that a number of high-profile DJs were approached by Simon Cowell for his new talent show.
The X Factor mastermind has recently been developing the reality show Ultimate DJ to find the next superstar DJ, but Fatboy Slim - real name Norman Cook - argued that the format wouldn't translate well to television.
"Simon Cowell was talking about doing a show and everyone in the business, he kind of started approaching us, and we were like, 'F**k off. No - that's a terrible idea!'" Cook told Digital Spy at Electrobeach Festival in France over the weekend.
"That's the good thing about dance music; it grows organically through drunk people late at night coming up with stupid ideas. It's not something that can be scripted or transported into a TV studio."
He continued: "I get offered loads of TV shows and they're like, 'Can you perform for five minutes?...

Given the subarctic winter we've been experiencing in the Northeast this year, South by Southwest (SXSW), which takes place annually in balmy Austin, Texas, was something we were looking forward to even more than usual. Warm weather, spicy Mexican food, and the hottest movies imaginable all added to create a thoroughly thawing experience.
There wasn't a single Omg-you-have-to-see-this movie like there was last year, when "Short Term 12" made its debut, but the festival's lineup was quietly powerful, full of movies that were easy to miss, but at your own peril. There were a handful of loud, shout-y debuts, but some of those missed the mark completely, leaving room for the smaller movies to reach in and steal my heart.
So, a rundown of all of the movies we saw at SXSW -- some were odious, some were wonderful, but all of them we were very happy to watch... and...

When Edm supergroup Swedish House Mafia announced that they would be breaking up, fans around the world were shocked. Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello had become three of the biggest names in the industry and to hear that they would be going their separate ways was very upsetting news. Well, at least for some people.
For director Christian Larson, he saw it as a chance to continue what he started and finish the journey that he first embarked on with the band several years ago, when he followed them around for Take One: A Documentary Film About Swedish House Mafia. This time, Larson filmed the DJ trio during their last ever world tour, capturing everything from the sold out stadium shows to the tensions boiling beneath the surface between these three longtime friends.
Titled Leave The World Behind, the documentary premiered this year at SXSW and proved to be an absolute crowd pleaser.

Avicii and Kaskade are among the DJs who have reworked some of Disney's classic songs for a remix album.
The LP, called Dconstructed, includes 14 Edm mixes of tracks such as 'Circle Of Life' from The Lion King by Mat Zo, Frozen's 'Let It Go' by Armin van Buuren, and 'Derezzed' from Tron: Legacy by Avicii.
"I feel incredibly honoured to have remixed an Oscar-winning song - though I didn't know that yet when I started," Van Buuren said on his version of 'Let It Go'.
Avicii added: "My first remix of Daft Punk's Tron: Legacy was so long ago, but it was a significant moment of recognition in my career. It's great to be a part of it again, to refresh the track, and to let everyone hear Negin's voice."
Other tracks on the collection include a house version of 'Baby Mine' from Dumbo by Kaskade...

Leave The World Behind, Christian Larson’s documentary about Edm super-act Swedish House Mafia, is a frustrating experience. Following the band on their last tour, the film hints and teases at what could be a potentially very interesting look at the breakup of the greatest DJs of the last decade (a sentiment I agree with). However, Larson never pulls back enough layers or digs down very deep, instead choosing to just gloss over the full story and only address it with superficial insights from the band’s members (Steve Angello, Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso) that do little to fill in the blanks on what is already a puzzling situation.
When Swedish House Mafia announced that they would be breaking up, fans of the group were in shock. After achieving such monumental success and essentially becoming the modern face of mainstream Edm, we were left stupefied at why the band was going their separate ways.

The electronic dance movement is now. Between French electronic outfit Daft Punk winning the Album of the Year Grammy while dressed as ice cream-colored robots, the Internet-dominating Beyonce surprise release, and earlier this week the release of a new album by 26-year-old dance music maven (and "Spring Breakers" composer) Skrillex — the 124-beats-per-second revolution is very much ongoing. And one of the acts that exemplified this new cultural movement – from their catchy, super dance-y singles to their blistering live show – was Swedish House Mafia. The Swedish trio, comprised of DJ/producers Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrasso, were at the top of their game and very much at the forefront of dance music, when they decided to call it quits. The surprisingly emotional and hands-in-the-air joyous documentary "Leave the World Behind" chronicles the band's sold out worldwide farewell tour in 2012. Even if this whole scene leaves you absolutely baffled, the movie.

Swedish House Mafia have announced details for the screening of their new film Leave The World Behind.
The trio's documentary movie will receive its first screening in the UK on March 14. An official release date for the film has yet to be announced.
The Christian Larson-directed film follows the band - made up of Steve Angello, Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso - on their 'One Last Tour' last year and documents their split, which was announced shortly after.
"You just get to a point when you kind of stop," Angello says in the trailer. "It's a lot of fun when you're young and you're drinking and banging out records."
Tickets for the screening went on sale today (February 25) at 10am. For more information, visit www.leavetheworldbehind.com.

DJs Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso — formerly the supergroup Swedish House Mafia — took to Twitter this morning to announce the release of the first in a series of 12 preview clips from “Leave The World Behind.” The concert documentary chronicles their final tour as a trio and is slated to premiere at SXSW March 12 at the Paramount Theatre. The premise of the 30-second clip is the resounding drops that characterize Edm music — capturing a brief yet hilarious moment shared between Axwell, Angello and a fan. After signing the fan’s T-shirt, Axwell stops the fan and asks her if she knows the song playing in the background. Unfazed that the girl looks as if she might burst into tears of joy, Axwell continues: “You know what normally happens in about three seconds?”“The drop,” she responds. Immediately following her response, Axwell shoots up out of his seat, perfectly in time with the music—the drop,...

Monsters University managed a strangely subtle debut for a Pixar film, earning neither the high praise of most of their works, nor the backlash of Cars 2. Instead, the film was met with medium reviews, a lot of happy kids, and a very curious feeling of nostalgia for characters that aren’t actually all that old.
By the way, check out our Monster University podcast review for an expanded take on the film itself.

Fans of Disney•Pixar’s feature films love to scour the screen in search of the Hidden Gems the filmmakers sneak into each film: Wall•E’s explorations uncover a Mike Wazowski antenna ball, paying homage to Monsters, Inc., and in Up, the classic Luxo Jr. ball can be seen in the girl’s bedroom as Carl Fredricksen’s house flies by her window.
