"The Beast" is a short film that centers around three characters, Jacob, his father Michael and his uncle Douglas. It is a full moon and Michael and Douglas are tying up Jacob to a tree to keep others safe. Jacob is afflicted with the curse of the werewolf, and his father refuses to kill him.
Bill Oberst Jr. plays Michael and gives a wonderful performance. You can see the pain in his eyes as he sees his son go through this. He can't bring himself to terminate him, even though he knows it is the right thing to do.
Peter Le Bas also gives an excellent performance as Douglas. He tries to convince Michael to kill Jacob. When Michael declines, Douglas tries to take matters into his own hands and end Jacob's life. Michael attempts to stop Douglas and during their struggle, Jacob is able to escape.
