Harvey (“American Vandal”) and Pete Davidson (“The King of Staten Island”).

Eric Paquette, former senior VP at Sony Pictures and MGM, has launched a new company, Meridian Pictures, with a focus on film and TV projects. Paquette said that he’ll be working with direct to consumer platforms, financiers and studios to fill their pipelines with “compelling stories for their specific audiences.” The projects in development include Papa Alpha Heavy, from writer Michael Walker, an action thriller set on a commercial airline. Gary Fleder is set to direct, and Chrisitain Mercuri’s Capstone is financing. Other projects Paquette is packaging include Meltdown, from screenwriter Jessica Postigo, based on the life of Bonnie Klea, the former Rocketdyne employee whose advocacy for worker victims of nuclear radiation exposure at the contaminated Santa Susana Field Laboratory led to a massive restitution program. If you weren’t paying attention yesterday when the Grammy Award nominations were announced, something interesting happened. Sure, Beyoncé led the nominations, with Taylor Swift not far behind, but movie fans might have noticed an interesting nomination. It was Billie Eilish getting nominated for her No Time to Die song, from the upcoming James Bond flick. What makes it so interesting is that the Grammy Awards will be given out before the film gets released, so hypothetically it could already be an award winner. Written by Karo and Francis who also will star, Living the Dream follows Quincy Hart (Francis), an internet personality who realizes his career is shallow and tries to reconnect with the most important people in his life. All he wants is love but all he gets are likes. Francis, whose new album is expected later this year, will also contribute original music.

MTV has cast Victoria Justice in the cyber thriller Eye Candy based on Rl Stine’s bestselling novel. Justice plays Lindy, a beautiful but reclusive hacker whose blog exposes everything from terrorist plots to suspected killers. Convinced by her roommate to begin online dating, Lindy is targeted by a dangerous cyber stalker and believes one of her suitors to be the culprit. When things take a deadly turn, she teams up with the city’s cyber-crime unit to catch the killer. Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke will direct and executive produce the pilot. Justice is coming off her successful Nickelodeon series Victorious which wrapped in 2012. She is repped by UTA. Madeleine Martin has joined Netlix’s Hemlock Grove as a new series regular. Talent agent Chris Dennis has joined management/production company Underground as a manager. For the past five years, Dennis was at Paradigm as a talent agent. Because of his switch from agenting to management, it is unclear which clients will follow him to Underground. “The hardest thing about growing a company is finding the right people to bring into the fold,” said Underground’s Trevor Engelson. “With Chris we’ve found the perfect fit for us, a true hustler with a gigantic future over here at Underground.” Best known for its literary business, Underground has been working on building its talent side over the past couple of years. Dennis joins managers Engelson, Evan Silverberg and Josh Turner McGuire in the La office and Noah Rothman who recently joined the company’s NYC office.
