Exclusive: Actors Mark McKinney and Daniel Ings have signed on to star in the comedy road movie A Rush of Blood.
We understand British filmmaker Tristan Shepherd will direct the pic from a screenplay he also wrote. Billed as a “comedy, thriller, road trip movie,” the plot follows a British-Canadian couple, who get their last shot at fulfilling their professional ambitions — and any hope of reinvigorating their marriage — when their independent film is selected for Sundance. However, when they accept a ride to Park City with Reegan, a young, self-styled film reporter, who becomes increasingly maniacal as the journey unfolds, their dream slowly turns into a nightmare – more frightening than any film plot they could have ever devised. McKinney will play a character named Larry, while Ings will suit up as a character named Brian.

“American Idol’s” Disney Night turned out to be the end of the road for three talented contestants: country crooner Mike Parker, pop artist Emyrson Flora and soul singer Lady K. In our recent poll, we asked “Idol” viewers to tell us which of three eliminees was most robbed of a spot in next week’s Top 7, and the poll results are in. Mike led with 35 of the vote, compared to Emyrson at 27 and Lady K at 24; the other 14 of respondents chose the “None of them” option.
In our comments section, “American Idol” watcher Donna A Gerken said, “Mike got robbed … love his voice.” Fellow fan Elaine Hamilton chimed in, “I am so so sorry Mike Parker was eliminated. I say to Mike, please keep going this is not the end for you, when God closes a door he opens a window. Keep achieving and aiming high. You will get there.

Following the eliminations of Scarlet, Danielle Finn and Sir Blayke on Sunday night, only the Top 20 singers remain in the running to win this landmark 20th season of “American Idol” on ABC. Viewers voted in our overnight poll that asked which of these three ousted artists was most robbed of a spot in the Top 20, and the results are in. With 25, Scarlet nabbed more votes than her fellow contestants. Danielle followed at 22, and then Sir Blayke trailed at 16. However, the plurality of respondents (37) actually thought that “None of them” were robbed this week. Here are the complete poll results:

25 — Scarlet
22 — Danielle Finn
16 — Sir Blayke

Regrettably, “American Idol” powerhouse singer Sir Blayke has just been eliminated from the reality TV show. The ouster came at the end of Sunday’s three-hour Top 20 reveal episode, with Ryan Seacrest delivering the bad news to the formerly homeless singer. “We heart you, too!” Ryan told Sir Blayke after he held up his hands in the shape of a heart for all of his fans to see. And just like that, Danielle Finn‘s journey on “American Idol” has come to an end. This 17-year-old from Los Angeles learned the unfortunate news during Sunday’s three-hour Top 20 reveal episode. “That’s all right,” Danielle told Ryan Seacrest with a smile, trying to make light of the bad situation. The host thanked Danielle for being a part of the reality TV show’s 20th season, adding, “It was a pleasure meeting you. I’m sorry it didn’t go any further, but it wouldn’t be the same without you. So thank you.” Did America get it wrong by cutting Danielle from the Top 24? Vote in our poll below that asks which eliminated contestant was most robbed.

During Tuesday’s battle round episode of “The Voice,” Jennifer Hudson pitted Mike Parker against Natasia GreyCloud to John Mayer‘s “Gravity.” Since these were two of Jennifer’s strongest artists, it was a safe bet to assume that whichever person got eliminated would be stolen by another coach, and that’s exactly what happened. After Jennifer advanced Mike to the next round, none other than Kelly Clarkson swooped in to steal Natasia for her team. My jaw still hurt going into Tuesday’s episode of The Voice. The Battles had literally just begun a day earlier when Kelly Clarkson made such a “Wait, whaaat?!?” kind of a decision following the first sing-off that my jaw hit the floor with the thud of a two-ton mic drop. Cody Ray Raymond is a fine vocalist, to be sure, but to choose to keep him on her team over SandyRedd, who not only ranks high on TVLine’s list of Season 15’s Top 10 Blinds, but has her picture in the dictionary next to the term “showstopper”?
