About a year and a half ago, it was announced that Shawnee Smith of the Saw franchise had signed on to star in a horror movie called The Skulleton. Last week, we heard that Shawnee Smith is considering reprising the role of Amanda Young in the latest Saw sequel – which we’re referring to as Saw X, since it’s the tenth film in that franchise. Amanda previously appeared in Saw, Saw II, Saw III, and Saw VI. But, as it turns out, there’s a bit of a scheduling issue here. Saw X is filming in Mexico City, and at the same time Smith is busy working on a different horror project in Connecticut. Deadline revealed that the horror movie Smith is currently working on is called The Skulleton.

The plot, written by Myles Clohessy, Phil Harrell, and Emma Harrell, centers on Troy Miller (Paolo) and a group of friends who opt to escape the Pandemic ridden New York City of 2020 by going on a seemingly perfect summer vacation to Fire Island, the picturesque LGBTQ party haven off the coast of NY. What starts as the time of their lives and a much needed retreat from quarantine rules, quickly spirals out of control for the group of friends on the infamous, picturesque party getaway, as they find themselves caught in a web of sex, lies and cold blooded murder at the hands of a serial killer on the loose (Bennett).
Kresh Novakovic, Kahyun Kim, Liam Burke, Arielle Diaz, Brian Foyster, and Ramon Torress also co-star. Steven Schrager and Robert Clohessy will serve as executive producers, with filming slated to take place in New York City and on Fire Island this month.

Gravitas Ventures has acquired U.S. and Canadian distribution rights to Too Late, a horror comedy that marks the debut feature from director D.W. Thomas and writer Tom Becker. Alyssa Limperis (Aunty Donna’s Big Ol’ House of Fun), Ron Lynch, Will Weldon (This Isn’t Happening), Mary Lynn Rajskub, Fred Armisen, Jenny Zigrino, Jack De Sena (Avatar: The Last Airbender) and Brooks Wheelan (SNL) star.

The company has acquired world rights on the hybrid live-action/animated family comedy Ollie. In development, the pic will star Mario Lopez (Saved By The Bell) alongside skateboarder and musician Tony Alva. Story follows Cj, a 13-year-old by who is having a tough time at his local skatepark.
