Though she usually takes on more of a comedic role, Kat Dennings shows her impressive range in the new preview trailer for “To Write Love on Her Arms.” The “2 Broke Girls” star joins Rupert Friend, Corbin Bleu and Chad Michael Murray in the project, a true story from director Nathan Frankowski.
Per the synopsis, “Renee Yohe is a Florida girl who struggles with addiction and abuse. I a creative blend of artistic fantasy and music conflicted with hard reality, Renee discovers the value of genuine friendships and embarks on a daunting-yet-courageous journey toward recovery.

David McKenna, who produced the independent drama Renee, starring Kat Dennings of 2 Broke Girls, died Dec. 14 in an early morning automobile accident in Orlando. He was 33. In the film, which opened the 2012 Florida Film Festival in Orlando in March, Dennings plays musical artist Renee Yohe and details her struggle to overcome self-injury and addiction with the help of her friends.
