Habib Majidi

Habib Majidi was born in Tehran the capital city of Iran. He attended
the Art university of Tehran faculty of cinema and theatre and earned
his bachelor degree on Cinematography orientation. He started his
career as a professional still photographer since 2003 with the Asghar Farhadi's movie "Beautiful City" He has worked with some famous Iranian
directors such as Asghar Farhadi, Kiumars Poorahmad, Ahmad Amini,
Rasool Mollagholi poor, Sirus Alvand, Fereidoun Hasanpour and Dr. Hadi
Karimi. Numerous times, He has been nominated as best photographer from
different Iranian film festivals and in 2010 he achieved the best still
photographer for the movie "M for Mother" directed by Rasool Mollagholi
poor and starring Golshifteh Farahani. also He was nominated twice as best still photographer of the year award -Crystal Simorgh- for both photo collections he had in the competition in the International Fajr Film Festival in 2014. His collaboration with Asghar Farhadi continued with the movie "A separation" which was the winner of the Oscar Academy Award and the Golden Globe for Best Foreign LanguageFilm in 2012.
Habib Majidi has became the first Asian still photographer accepted into USA based Society of Motion Picture Still Photographers (SMPSP). The society that dedicated to the art of motion picture still photography and boasts an exclusive membership of only 44 photographers from around the world and Habib Majidi is the only Asian full member of SMPSP .
The solo exhibition of Habib Majidi in Rome-Italy was presented in July 2013. Also his solo photo exhibition in Lithuanian Theater, Music and Cinema Museum in Vilnius was presented in March 2015.
