Flora Mendez was born in Guatemala city. Her parents Ramon Mendez and
Hilda Barrientos always support her artistic interests. She has a
degree in Dramatic Arts by the University San Carlos de Guatemala where
she teaches acting to the new generations. Mother of one: Ximena. She
started on the public eye as a singer when she was fifteen years old as
part of a girls band. At age eighteen she began acting in a local
theatre company on the play "Sound of Music" as Sister Bertha. She has
participated in more than 30 theatre plays. Well known for her
versatility, she was invited to participate in many short films by
Guatemalan directors before she got her first big role In 2011 when she
was casted for the movie "Toque de Queda" directed by Ray Figueroa and
Elias Jimenez, both great names for the cinematography in Latin
America. Flora Mendez is also in movies like "Aqui me quedo" by Rodolfo
Espinoza and "Grano de lagrimas" by Roberto Dávila. With her work she
has demonstrated that she can portrait very deep and complex
personalities on the screen.
