Hanneke Verschoor

Hanneke Verschoor was born in Bloemfontein, South Africa. She started
her music career as a French horn player at the age of 6 and started
freelancing around the country at the age of 12.
Her first solo performance was in 1989 on invitation of the Afrikaans Arts and Culture Association as guest artist.
After joining the Free State Symphony Orchestra as ad hoc member in 1995, she kick started her professional career as a freelance horn player all over South Africa performing with the likes of the National Chamber Orchestra, The Johannesburg Festival Orchestra, The Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra, The Johannesburg Music Initiation, the MIAGI orchestra, The KwaZulu Natal Philharmonic Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of South Africa and a guest appearance with the English Chamber Orchestra.
In 2003, Hanneke completed a B. Social Sciences degree, specializing in psychology ( majors in French horn performance, Music Therapy and Educational Psychology ) along side a full time music career. She belongs to the Golden Key Society for outstanding academic achievements.
Hanneke has recorded on multi Grammy award winning Ladysmith Black Mambazo's Grammy nominated No Boundaries album with the elite English Chamber Orchestra, Miriam Makeba's final DVD recording with the International Classical Music Festival Orchestra, Pavarotti's Farewell Concert, Jonathan Crossley's "My Friends and I ", Huisgenoot Skouspel DVD ( 2003- 2007 ), Golden Bear Award winning film Carmen U'Kayalitscha's soundtrack, Mathys Roets's "Fluister " album, the famous Princess Magogo recordings with well known Dutch conductor Arjan Tien and numerous advertisements and live broadcasts for the South African Broadcasting Center.
