Welcome to our rundown of the most-watched branded YouTube videos of the week.
We’re publishing this snippet of a larger Gospel Stats Weekly Brand Report in order to analyze sponsorship trends in the creator economy. Any video launched in tandem with an official brand partner is eligible for the ranking.

It’s a good time to be MrBeast. The star of YouTube’s most-watched videos is still flying high even after he announced a step back from his management team at Night. Brands are doing whatever it takes to work with the creator of YouTube’s most spectacular videos, and Donaldson is harnessing those sponsorships to create bigger, more impressive pieces of work. That cycle continued this week,...

Jimmy Donaldson is attaching his personal brand to a fast food chain, but this time, we’re not talking about MrBeast Burger. The face of the MrBeast YouTube empire has partnered with Zaxby‘s to introduce the MrBeast Box, a meal that features Donaldson’s Feastables brand on its packaging.
The MrBeast Box is available at Zaxby’s locations nationwide. The chain known for tenders and other chicken dishes counts more than 900 locations, most of which can be found in the Southern United States.
The box starts at $12.99 and includes a plethora of Zaxby’s menu items, including chicken, fries, Texas toast, and Feastables’ milk chocolate bar. For Donaldson’s confectionary brand, the Zaxby’s partnership is a chance to show off a new recipe. Feastables recently reformulated its chocolate bars to create what Donaldson calls “the best-tasting chocolate ever made by mankind.”

This week, if you look at the top five channels in the U.S. Top 50, you’ll see some faces smiling back at you. That’s a bit unusual, since brands (particularly those providing content for kids) have typically outranked creators in our all-American rankings.
So who are the creators sitting atop the charts? They’re a mix of familiar faces and comparatively recent arrivals in the Top 50.

Two years ago, Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, ventured to Bentonville, Arkansas, with his management team to talk creators — and chocolate. Donaldson, a giant on YouTube (252 million-plus subscribers), was aiming to leverage his audience to build a real-world business: a candy line called Feastables. And Walmart, based in Bentonville, signed on as a launch partner.
Feastables now brings in nine figures annually in revenue, Donaldson told a conference last year, making it a textbook example of how a creator can monetize fandom. “I know for a fact that Walmart and a lot of these retailers are now going, ‘Ok, what Jimmy did in chocolate, what Logan [Paul] did in hydration [with beverage brand Prime], are creators building in other categories? And should we be more aggressive?” says Reed Duchscher, CEO of creator management firm Night Media, which had repped MrBeast in all areas until recently but now just reps Donaldson for his Feastables business.

MrBeast has brought his brand into another video game. The YouTube star’s latest partnership is a deal with Zynga‘s Socialpoint studio centered around the mobile game Top Troops.
Top Troops is a strategy game launched last year by Socialpoint, the studio acquired by Take-Two in 2017. (Take-Two became Zynga’s parent company after closing a $12.7 billion deal in 2022.) Top Troops players who download the game on either iOS or Android devices can now take part in the MrBeast Battle Challenge, which was designed in tandem with the titular creator (whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson.)
The MrBeast Battle Challenge is a 14-day gauntlet filled with challenges that look like they came out of a MrBeast video. The creation of “MrBeast-themed obstacles” is nothing new for North Carolina-based Donaldson. Last year, he jumped into another casual game when he designed levels and characters for Scopely’s Stumble Guys.

The race to become the most-subscribed channel on YouTube is heating up, and the channel that currently holds that title is rallying its base in an attempt to stay on top. T-Series uploaded a video urging its fans to “unite together” as MrBeast moves within 11 million subscribers of the record label’s YouTube-leading mark.
On April 15, a new video on the T-Series channel prompted viewers to subscribe and “embark on this journey as one united family.” The clip also featured a message attributed to late T-Series founder Gulshan Kumar: The quote expresses Kumar’s desire to “put India and my people at top of the international platform.”

This week, a trickshot channel caught our attention, but the channels at the front of the U.S. Top 50 didn’t need any tricks to reach the summit of our ranking. The top five chart leaders all pulled in at least 400 million weekly views.

Younger audiences flock to social media platforms like YouTube and TikTok, and stars of those services could find themselves with streaming deals soon.
MrBeast is officially coming to Prime Video. On March 18, Amazon announced a new output deal with YouTube star Jimmy Donaldson. Better known by his moniker of MrBeast, Donaldson is the owner of the second largest viewer base on YouTube with over 247 million subscribers, second only to Indian record label T-Series. Donaldson’s deal with Amazon will see his hugely popular “Beast Games” YouTube series become the biggest reality TV competition in history. For younger generations, social media and creator-distributed content far surpass traditional linear and streaming video consumption, so this deal shows that streaming providers are keeping a watchful eye on the viewing habits of younger generations. It still remains to be seen

There were only 12 channels in this week’s U.S. Top 50 that saw their YouTube viewership decline week-over-week, but four of those channels still wound up in the top five.
Thanks to those traffic dips, the gap between this ranking’s upper echelon and the rest of the field is thinning. The #1 channel, which is far ahead of the other contenders, didn’t seem to get that memo.

‘Beast Games’ Competition Series From YouTuber MrBeast Ordered By Prime Video With $5 Million Payout
Prime Video has handed a series order to reality competition series Beast Games from YouTube personality MrBeast (né Jimmy Donaldson) and Amazon MGM Studios, with a $5 million grand prize – the biggest payout in TV history. As we reported in January, MrBeast was nearing a deal with Amazon for an unscripted competition series, but details were not revealed.
Based on his already successful YouTube show, Beast Games is touted “to become the biggest reality competition series ever with 1000 contestants competing for a $5 million dollar cash prize,” per the release. MrBeast will serve as host and executive producer. Beast Games will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
In November 2022, MrBeast became the most subscribed YouTube creator worldwide and now has over 244 million subscribers. His social media career began when he first posted on the platform at 13, though he rose to fame in 2017 when a video of MrBeast counting to 100,000 went viral.

MrBeast is headed to Amazon.
The hugely popular YouTube star has struck a deal with Amazon MGM Studios for his first traditional TV series: a competition described as “the biggest reality competition series in television history.”
The project is based on his YouTube show and titled Beast Games. It will feature 1,000 contestants competing for a $5 million cash payout. The prize is touted as the biggest single prize in the history of television and streaming.
Sources say Amazon outbid at least one major streaming rival to make the deal with MrBeast, a.k.a. Jimmy Donaldson, who is the most popular content creator on YouTube. Donaldson also negotiated the right to retain creative control of the production.
“My goal is to make the greatest show possible and prove YouTubers and creators can succeed on other platforms,” said MrBeast in a statement. “Amazon gave me the creative control I need to try and make it happen.

At the Time 100 Gala on Wednesday night, former child stars Ke Huy Quan and Drew Barrymore reunited after having not “seen each other in almost 40 years” to present Steven Spielberg with the event’s Impact Award.
“Steven introduced me to this world where his imagination lived and invited me in,” Quan said. “He showed me how much fun we can have when we let our creativity be our guide. My life has [been] made so much better because of him.”
In his acceptance speech, Spielberg reciprocated the affection he received from Quan and Barrymore.
“I have never been more proud in my working career than being able to find, in 1981, 6-year-old Drew Barrymore and, in early 1983, 11-year-old Ke,” the filmmaker said. “I was so lucky to find them both, and they have not changed in all those years.”

Is tax season causing you to spiral haplessly with mind-numbing dread? Jimmy Donaldson -- the breakout YouTube star known to 17 million subscribers as MrBeast -- is in roughly the same spot.
In a sitdown interview with fellow creators Ethan and Hila Klein on their H3 Podcast, the 20-year-old discussed the most complicated tax season of his young life, given that his YouTube career is predicated on giving away massive amounts of money for video stunts, such as YouTuber Only Airsoft Battle Royale For $200,000 and Last YouTuber To Leave [The Circle] Wins $100,000. “Last year was stupid, the amount of money we spent,” he tells the Kleins, “like some months $500,000 on videos.” Last December, in a yearly wrap-up, Donaldson said he had given away $1 million on his ascent to YouTube stardom.
There are two major struggles that he is dealing with this tax season, Donaldson says. First, he’s unsure if he can deduct...

YouTuber MrBeast, who’s most well-known for the generosity that’s led him to dole out more than $1 million to other people on his rise to garnering more than 14 million YouTube subscribers, has signed with Dallas-based talent management and digital marketing agency Night Media.
The agency will represent MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, in all areas, including branding licensing, and content distribution. Donaldson was brought on by Night Media founder Reed Duchscher.
“MrBeast will be a cornerstone addition to our talent lineup going into 2019,” Duchscher said in a statement. He added that Night Media — which has created brand campaigns for companies and organizations like eBay, browser extension Honey, the National Breast Cancer Foundation, and smartphone company OnePlus — hopes to “leverage [MrBeast’s] audience with leading brands looking to capitalize on the red-hot influencer market.”
Night Media's digital talent roster nets a cumulative total of more than 600 million monthly views, the agency said.

MrBeast has proven the age-old adage that sometimes you have to give in order to get.
In a video posted on Christmas, the YouTube star recounted how he originated the concept of giving away large sums of cash for videos that ultimately resulted in a breakout year for the 20-year-old, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson. Since launching his channel roughly six years ago, Donaldson has amassed 13 million subscribers and 1.6 billion lifetime views.
The first-ever such giveaway video, Donaldson recounts, came via a brand deal with analytics software startup Quid, in which he donated $10,000 to a homeless person. After that clip proved successful, Donaldson subsequently tested out different variations on the theme, including gifting random Twitch streamers tens of thousands of dollars, presenting his mom with $100,000, and purchasing a new car for his stepdad using pennies. More recently, Donaldson threw his support behind the controversial YouTube star PewDiePie with a pricey ad campaign,...

YouTuber PewDiePie, as has long been predicted, will lose his spot as the platform’s most-subscribed-to creator within the couple of days, when Bollywood record label T-Series overtakes him. But one PewDiePie fan is not letting him go down without a fight: Jimmy Donaldson, aka ‘MrBeast,’ who purchased space on every billboard in his town to promote PewDiePie’s YouTube channel and keep him No. 1.
Donaldson, who has nearly 10 million subscribers of his own, is known for videos where he throws around large amounts of money -- usually by donating it to charity or giving it to strangers. He recently tipped a waitress $10,000, and, in a video posted yesterday, he played a game with random passersby at a college campus where every player won between $1,000 and $100,000.
“Calling all bros!” reads one of the billboards he bought. “You can save YouTube. Subscribe to PewDiePie. Unsubscribe from T-Series.”
